Summary: more! More! MORE!!!!!
Review: Stephanie Plum and Joe Morelli have to be the hottest duo in fiction these days. This book isn't as funny as the first two (One for the Money and Two for the Dough, both of which made me laugh until I cried SEVERAL times) but it's still a lot funnier than anything else out there. The only dissappoinment was that Morelli and Stephanie didn't spend enough time together. I keep waiting for them to end up under the boardwalk... J. Van Zand

Summary: MORE! MORE! MORE!
Review: I have read all three Stephanie Plum novels in less than a week, and each one is better than the last. Gun toting Grandma Lazur relaxes in this story and Lula takes over where Grandma left off. I laughed out loud several times. Look out Sue Grafton!! The sexual electricity between Steph and Joe is the best! They don't need to have sex - I personally think it would ruin everything. REMEMBER MOONLIGHTING?!? I'm looking forward to the next Stephanie Plum novel - I hope it's soon!

Summary: Here's the next Sue Graphton!
Review: This is the third book in a series with amature bounty hunter, Stephanie Plum, riding high to get the bad guys. She's such a sympathetic character and the comedy of the situations overshawdow some of the darker passages where bodies fly out of trunks or are discovered buried in the basement. This is mystery written like popcorn...you just keep reading and when you're done, you're ready for more. I loved it

Summary: A Bit Too Chatty, But Still Top Notch
Review: I have read four of the Stephanie Plum (mis)adventures, and I must say that I am steadily growing more interested in the character. My first Plum (mis)adventure was Hard Eight, and from there, I read the series from the beginning. Three to Get Deadly is my fourth helping of this girl sleuth.

Although the writing is subtly formulaic, and the author's romance writing past sometimes overpowers the storyline, each book delivers a powerful combination of non-stop laughs and often more hilarious action. Three to Get Deadly is probably the best of the four I have read so far. In it, our most favorite, bumbling (anti)heroine is still learning the ropes of the bounty-hunting trade, still pining for her one-time sweetheart Joe Morrelli, and still embarassing her parents by not getting a decent, regular (and perfectly safe) job at the button factory like her cousin. This time around, she gets a 'plum' (heh heh) assignment from her cousin Vinnie: bring in an FTA who happens to be a lovable neighborhood candyman. Sounds simple, right? Yet, nothing is ever simple in these hilarious romps, and you will have to read it to find out why.

As always, the laughs are good and plenty, but what brings me back each time, besides the standard set-up of normally sane (but then, this is debatable) individuals caught up in insane situations, are the cast of supporting characters. Ranger gets considerable time in the book, and Evanovich gradually puts the finishing touches on making Lula the fumbling sidekick to bumbling Stephanie. I found the book a bit chatty and a little too busy with dialogue at points, but Evanovich delivers on the action.

I liked this one so much, I put the next in the series, Four to Score, at the top of my To Be Read Now List (and I admit that I have committed blasphemy, as the book now is ahead of a Spenser romp). Evanovich nails the introduction and the ending well, but sometimes the middle is kind of chatty. Nonetheless, I still like to hang on for the fast-paced (and often hair-raising) ride.

Summary: The Candy Man
Review: Stephanie Plum is back. Working for her cousin Vinnie as a bounty hunter, she goes out on what should be a routine case and discovers it is anything but routine. As bodies pile up, her life is threatened, her hamster is threatened, and her ex-husband is threatened (which is not a bad thing in Stephanie's opinion). She has help along the way from Ranger and Lula, as the case winds to a conclusion.

Uncle Mo seems to be a harmless older man who has been selling ice cream and candy in a small store. Stephanie grew up buying ice cream from Mo, and feels bad about needing to bring him in.
People in the neighborhood think she's a pariah for going after Uncle Mo. But everything is not as it seems. Mo has disappeared, and the search turns up a secret life, not to mention his connection with the murders of drug dealers.

There are a few sidelights, like Ranger trying to get Stephanie into better physical shape; Stephanie's continued problem with vehicles; an occasional appearance of family members; and Stephanie's relationship with Morelli.

Summary: LACKING BELIEVABILITY
Review: I am currently reading Hot Six, and while I am enjoying that, as well as the other four, I have to say that Three to Get Deadly just didn't do it for me. The plot was completely unrealistic, predictable, and just not up to the calibar Janet Evanovich usually writes at. It had some laugh out loud portions, but overall not her best work.

Review: I love this series! Evanovich continues to develop Stephanie Plum's character. I can't wait to read the others!

Summary: It's a tough job, but someone has to do it . . .
Review: As always, _Three To Get Deadly_ finds rookie bounty hunter Stephanie Plum in too deep and sinking fast. Once again, this books starts only a few months after the previous in the series, and Stepanie's still learning the ropes.

This time around it's Stephanie's job to bring in Moses Bedemier, the closest thing to God-on-Earth in the 'burg. "Uncle Mo", as everyone calls him, has been running the local candy shop for years and he's managed to make nearly everyone in town love him to bits. No one's able to believe that Mo would do anything even remotely against the law. But, as much as everyone loves him, no one knows a thing about him. There's not a single person who knows anything about his personal life. And, as is usually the case, appearances are deceiving, and Stephanie finds herself in the middle of a string of unexplained murders.

As with all the books in the series, the characters are what really make the story fantastic. Ms. Evanovich has a knack for making each and every character come to life in vivid detail. By the time you read this book you'll feel like you're visiting old friends.

Be prepared to laugh throughout the entire book as Stephanie finds herself in over her head more than once.
