Summary: Granny has a red Corvette.
Review: Yes it's true and she is living with Stephanie. It doesn't get much funnier than this. Grandma Mazur decides to take driving lessons and starts looking to pick up men. Stephanie is on the lookout for an insane murderer who has tagged her for extinction. Will she ever take her gun out of the cookie jar, maybe so but it's doubtful whether she will put bullets in it due to her aversion to guns.

Things are heating up between Stephanie and Joe and the ending will leave you slack jawed with the possibilities to come. Ranger is still in the picture but a certain twist has us wondering which side of the law he really is on. Stephanie is faced with the loss of another car and finds herself driving the groovy Wind Machine, a most memorable event for all involved. We are introduced to Bob the dog whose diet consists of just about anything from prunes to cardboard, and Rex the hamster is still wracking up the miles on his wheel, his little cheeks filled to capacity with the goodies of the moment. These books just keep getting better and better. Kelsana 3/26/02

Summary: Kickin!
Review: Once again Ms.Evanovich continues the Stephanie Plum perils. Per usual she totals a car and vacillates between two prime specimens of masculine availability. Yes, they represent two sides of Plum, but the question of which she'll choose when, especially in view of pistol packin grandma's ongoing interruptions,is a stitch. Between the cars, men, grandma and trying to pay the rent, one will be Plum tuckered and tickled too. You'll laugh out loud, and hold your breath awaiting the ongoing perils of Plum. Panting for the sequel of Seven and for Plum to pick Joe over the other guy.

Summary: Hoo-eee; A Plum great book
Review: I have read all of them up to this one and can say I enjoyed Hot Six as much or better than the others. I laughed at the new "dopey" guys and Stephanie's life is always fun. I hope she keeps the dog! He was a hoot.

Summary: formulaic Stephanie Plum mystery still entertains..
Review: Okay, I admit it. I'm a middle-aged man hooked on Stephanie Plum mysteries (by Janet Evanovich). The characters are colorful and, to a great extent, believable. The dialogue is sharp, complete with modern slang used to a comical effect. However what differentiates each Stephanie Plum novel from the other is story (ie, the mystery element). Sometimes it's good, other times not so good ... as with 'Hot Six'.

In 'Hot Six' we have Latino-commando-stud Ranger in big trouble. He is suspected of murder and, of course, it is up to Stephanie Plum to prove his innocence. Sounds promising enough, but actually the story is pretty flat. And Evanovich is a bit too economical with the cleaver one-liners. Still, as always, the book is very readable in a breezy sort of way; you can't get better beach-reading material than this.

Bottom line: a dud by Evanovich's standards is still lots of fun. I eagerly await for her latest book to be issued in paperback form ... so I can take it to the beach!

Review: More Stephanie makes the reader want more... amazing but true.
Laugh out loud predicaments contrasting well with a real mystery! But always big fun!

Summary: Ranger is on everyone's most-wanted list
Review: Stephanie Plum, intrepid bounty hunter, is back at it again. Her boss Vinnie wants her to pick up fellow bounty hunter, Ranger, who is a murder suspect in the killing of a mob member. She has mixed feelings about this as she knows that Ranger is much better at hide-and-seek than she is and she also has a somewhat personal interest in him. Since Ranger is wanted by the police, bounty hunters, and the mob, Stephanie keeps running into one or the other of these people who think that Plum is hot on his trail. In the middle of this Stephanie suddenly has two roommates--Bob, the dog, who is dumped on her by a "friend", and Grandma Mazur who is mad at her son-in-law. They add to the complications of her life and put a real crimp in any romantic designs she has on Ranger or Joe Morrelli, her cop friend. Even the most minor characters in Evanovich's book are hilarious, such as elderly neighbor Mrs. Bestler who enjoys playing elevator operator in Stephanie's apartment complex ("second floor beauty salon. Going up to ladies' handbags...") For a lot of laughs and a great read, try the Stephanie Plum series. It's a hoot!

Summary: Wacky, witty and FUN!
Review: Evanovich just keeps getting better and whackier!

This is a book to read and enjoy, while Stephanie Plum is a heroine that just keeps getting better. I consider everything Evanovich ever wrote to be a keeper and this is no exception.

If you haven't read the first 5 books, I strongly recommend them before reading this one but Evanovich does a good job of letting you in on things without the prequels if you'd rather not. Let me say that Janet Evanovich is excellent at characterizations and very true to type once she has developed a persona.

For a rollicking good time and a heroine who is remarkably easy to relate to, there aren't many books out there better than these. It is a pleasure watching this character develop and her secondaries are just yummie icing on the cake.

Summary: stephanie plum
Review: janet evanovich definitely has a winning style and heroine. each book is worthy of the original which is not the case in many, many sequels. she keeps stephanie fresh and introduces enough new characters to not let the series grow stale. the only adverse criticism is that she should let stephanie grow a little smarter as the series continues. this time i was a little disappointed when it took her so long to capture munson. evanovich could have keep the humor intact without letting stephanie be too much of a klutz. i find myself getting irritated after stephanie bombs too many times with the same perp. she needs to carry her gun if she's going to hunt down murderers.
