Summary: Solid Triple
Review: Not a home run but still a crowd pleaser. More sophisticated, but Stephanie still had her moments. Recommended.

Summary: Hard Eight Was Great!
Review: I couldn't wait for this book to come out! I read it in one night and really enjoyed it. This is a much superior book to Seven Up, which had too many "Lucy & Ethel"-type adventures. This is a more well-rounded book, with lots of laughs and some scary parts too. I was glad to see Joe re-enter Stephanie's life, as I think they're a cute couple (no matter how hot Ranger is!). If you're a fan of the Stephanie Plum series, don't miss Hard Eight.

Summary: Another Romp
Review: Always a fan of Stephanie and company, I couldn't wait to settle in and read this one. Many of my favorite characters made appearances. Some of the gags are getting a bit thin, but it wouldn't be Stephanie's life without a car explosion or two and some conflict in her family and love life.

I was pleasantly surprised by the appearance of a slightly nastier villain than in recent books. One of my favorite parts of the One for the Money was the edge of fear and threat. I will admit that this villain was a little too kooky to be truly scary, but the end seemed to find the energy that I was looking for.

Also, I admit to being curious about number nine, since Ms. Evanovich has dropped some hints that Stephanie may be looking for something different. Always a fan, I can't fault the very formula that I rely on. It is an entertaining, if predictable read.

Summary: I patiently Wait
Review: I patiently wait for each Janet Evanovich book to come out. As soon as I heard the new one was coming out I quickly read my current book so that I was ready to start my next Stephanie Plum adventure. I was not disappointed after my long wait. I think this book is exactly what Stephanie Plum fans are looking for. It is witty, funny and has plenty of car explosions. It is a book you can read in one sitting whether it be at the beach or on your couch. I definitely recommend this book to all Stephanie Plum fans as well as new readers of the series. Even though this is the 8th novel in the series Evanovich gives the new reader enough background to get caught up. Enjoy!!

Summary: I loved it!!
Review: Having been a little disappointed in Seven Up, I waited for Hard Eight with a little anxiety, but it was all for nothing. It was very exciting, not as much humor but definitely a page turner. The relationship between Steph, Ranger and Morelli takes a definite turn and I stayed up all night until I finished it. Now I have the whole year to wait for number Nine.

Summary: Do We Have to Wait Another Year for Nine??!!
Review: As we've come to expect from Ms. Evanovich, Hard Eight is a bumpy, crazy ride in the amusement park that is Stephanie Plum's life. Although Ms. Plum is a bounty hunter, it is obvious that she would find murder and mayhem, (not to mention sexy, complicated men), if she were a garbage collector. The dialogue in this book is witty and sharp, and the plot twists are deliciously predictable. Let's face it: we know the car is going to blow up, it's just a matter of when and how. Anyone who is a fan of Ranger will have to take a cold shower when she's done with the book. Morelli doesn't do too badly, either. Thank goodness we can count on Evanovich to make Stephanie's men say things that most of us will go to our graves without hearing from actual men. All in all, a fun evening of reading.

Summary: Hard Eight
Review: I just finished reading the latest of the Stephanie Plum antics and was thorougly entertained. I found just as many laughs, if not more than the previous 7 and put it right up there with one of my favorites. I don't think the hardcore fans will be disappointed in Evanovich's latest endeavor.

Summary: not so hard 8
Review: having just discovered this series about a week ago I devoured books 1-7 in time for hard eight to come out the other day. I read it in about 3 hours and had mixed feelings when i finished.
I of course was glad to be back in the lives of steph, joe, ranger and grandma mazur, but was left with an empty feeling as if the book never got down and dirty with any of them this time.
I felt as if i was involved in a game of duck duck goose with the characters just tapping each one on the head to know they were there but never claiming anyone of them to be "it". The ending left us guessing that the next installment will be called
"Nine months: whos the papa". For all Plum fans read on you will still enjoy as i did....I just felt a bit empty afterwards...

Summary: still entertaining; but at times a stretch
Review: Like others, I grabbed the book as soon as it was out, and then read it during a plane trip. Yes, there were times I laughed out loud (and got strange looks); and it was entertaining and I'd recommend it. The ending, however, seemed somewhat contrived; and you find yourself asking why it couldn't have happened some 30 or more pages earlier. Some of the scenes also seemed copied verbatim from an earlier book. I wouldn't hesitate to get the next one; but this one was not as good as ealier books.

Summary: Another Wonderful Adventure
Review: I bought this book at noon but had to go to work so I didn't get started on it until about 10:30pm, but I was up until I finished it. I don't want to give too much away, since it is a mystery in a way. But it has all the classic Stephanie Plum elements: Ranger, Joe, Blown up Cars, and of course a couple of bad guys.

For those of you who haven't read the Stephanie Plus series, start at the beginning and work your way up. There are references to past books.

Stephanie's character is personable and understandable. She lives a normal live, basically. I mean, if you were a bond enforcement person how normal can your life really be?
