Rating: Summary: THIS BOOK IZ OFF THE HOOK FO'SHO! Review: Hey people im 13 'bout to be 14 and i totally loved this book. This book and "The Coldest Winter Ever" have gotten me back to reading again. Althought im probably too young to be reading this i don't care because it was all that!! It was about a girl named Gena and a guy named Quadir who met at a party in Harlem and started a life together off of Quadir's fortune from being an infamous drug lord in Philly. After a while, things take a serious turn and the 2 try o break away from the game, finding that they can't. Now i dont want to tell too much of the story but if you havent read the story i recommend it 100%!!
Rating: Summary: TYPICAL BUT GOOD Review: I READ THIS BOOK IN ABOUT TWO DAYS. IT MOST DEFINITELY PULLS YOU IN. I BELIEVE THE AUTHOR COULD DO A BETTER JOB AT CREATING MORE WELL ROUNDED CHARACTERS THOUGH. IT BASICALLY REVOLVES AROUND THE SAME STORYLINE. GIRL MEETS BAD BOY, BOY DOES DIRT & GOES TO JAIL, GIRL LEFT STANDING TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO WITH HER LIFE. DON'T GET ME WRONG I LIKE A GOOD READ WHICH THIS WAS, BUT ADD A LITTLE TWIST TO MAKE IT STAND OUT AGAINST OTHERS.
Rating: Summary: NOW I BELIEVE TO READ Review: WELL I'M 26YEARS OLD AN I HATE TO READ BUT WHEN I GOT THIS BOOK AS A GIFT AN STARTED READING THE BACKOF IT I KNEW THIS BOOK WAS THE ONE THAT WAS GOING TO MAKE ME CHANGE MY LIFESTYLE. ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS THAT WHEN HE MADE THIS BOOK HE MUST HAVE FELT THE THINGS THAT SOME PEOPLE GO THREW ON AN EVERYDAY BASIS I MYSELF CAN SAY THAT READING THIS BOOK CHANGE MY WHOLE ATTITUDE ABOUT MONEY,MEN,FRIENDS AND THE FAST LIFE. I WANT TO THANK YOU FOR SAVING MY LIFE BEFORE IT WAS TO LATE AND FOR GIVING ME THE ABILITY TO THINK THAT NO MATTER HARD IT SEEMS THINGS CAN BE A LOT WORSER SOMETIMES BUT MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE WHILE YOU CAN.THANKS FOR KEEPING IT REAL ABOUT THE WHOLE THING THAT YOU HAVE SEEN IN YOUR LIFE AND FOR THOSE WHO NEED TO SEE IT BEFORE IT GET'S TO LATE.
Rating: Summary: Mediocre at Best Review: TTTG was not what I expected at all. The character development left little to be desired, the dialogue was stale, and the vocabulary left even less to be desired. I knew nothing about Gena and Quadir other than the fact that they were materialistic scavengers in the game for no definite rhyme or reason, especially considering that everyone around them was dropping like flies. I found myself frequently confused between scenarios and who was talking to whom about what. Based on the hype this novel received, I thought I was in for a fascinating and intriguing read. I'm relieved that the book was borrowed from a friend and now I don't have to worry about adding it to my collection. This book is absolutely "NO COMPARISON" whatsoever to "The Coldest Winter Ever," which was a very well-written book that I will definitely read again. I'm only on page 150 of TTTG so far and it is a real challenge to get through this read. Talk about sooooo disappointed...
Rating: Summary: This Book is all of that Review: I just wanted to say this book was very good. I am from Philly so when I read this book I felt like I was right there with them. I knew almost all of the streets, and I lived in Philly at the time this book was taking place. It really felt real because it was crazy out there, and people was getting killed left and right. It should give anyone in the game a better perspective of how that lifestyle affects the people closest to you. I read the book in two days because I just couldn't put it down. I hope Terri woods writes another book because she definitely has a talent for writing. She really brought this book alive. So I say take an experience with this book that you won't be sorry you did. Be Blessed!
Rating: Summary: SURPRISED (not pleasantly) Review: After reading several reviews regarding this book, I expected it to be much better than what it actually was. The book did not read well and I had to force myself to finish it. It is my opinion that K'wan's "gansta" and Shannon Holmes "B-more Careful" are much better books. Both of these books had me wanting more at the end of the book.
Rating: Summary: This Book is SOOOO Good. Review: If you liked "The Coldest Winter Ever", you'll absolutely LOVE "True to the Game". I woke up in the middle of the night to read it. Upon reading this book, I felt every emotion possible: envy, jealousy, happiness, anger and sadness, as I was crying at a particular moment in the book. A MUST READ!!!!!
