Rating: Summary: Too Much Like Winter Review: This novel reminded me of Coldest Winter Ever. It was enjoyable. But you should read the novel LUST OF THE FLESH by Beverly Rolyat. That novel is one of the best blockbusters I've read in years. It's a pageturner that will have you seating on the edge of your seat and your mouth watering. REad it. You won't be disappointed - promise.
Rating: Summary: Kennys thoughts about "True to the game" Review:
Gena and Sahriah where in New York shopping when they met Quadir and Rasun. Sahriah and Gena are best friends as well as Quadir and Rasun. Gena falls for Quadir and leaves her ex-boyfriend because of his abusive ways. Quadir is a twenty-five year old male who is well educated because, Quadir's parents wanted what was best for him. Quadir always thought he would be a dentist, but his dad was running out of money. Quadir got caught up in the streets to support himself. That was the turning point in his life.
Gena is eighteen years old, she lives in public housing and doesn't have a lot going for her life. In Gena's past she always falls for the type of guys who has lots of money, but doesn't know how to treat her. When Gena meets Quadir she feels that things are going to be different between them, since her last boyfriend was abusive.
It was 1990 the beginning of a new year, "Happy New Year" Quadir said to Gena.(p.116)Gena and Quadir were at a New Years party at Penns Landing in Philadelphia with there friends eating, talking, and just having fun. Until, the Junior Mafia showed up, that's
when things got really ugly.
I liked "True to the game" because this book taught me a few thing about the real life. Also, it taught me to obey my parents and always follow instructions. What I didn't like about the book was that it describes to much violence. I give "True to the game" a five star rating because, overall this book has taught me life learning situations.
