Rating: Summary: Not as good as B-More!!!!!! Review: While True to the Game was an appealing story, it was no where near as RAW as B-More. I was a little dissapointed b/c I read B-More first. I was expecting more graphic details about the street game vs. a "men in the streets cheat regardless" fest. Also, was a little confused about what happened with the wedding that supposedly took place. One minute they were engaged, the next minute they were married? I don't think the writing flowed that smoothly. Series of events were mish-moshed and there were too many characters coming out of the woodwork. Another thing - one mention was made of a cell phone that Gena was using when Qua got her the ride. Why didn't Qua have one? He only had a beeper? One would think a multi - millionare dealer would have a cell phone especially if his girl had one. Cell phones weren't that popular back then anyway. Not a very convincing story line because it lacked consistency, but otherwise, it was a cute love story.
Rating: Summary: excellent book!... Review: this was an excellent book. it revealed everything that happens on the streets and in the drug game. the book kept your attention from cover to cover. it was definitely a 5 star book. i am an unpublished author, and reading books is my inspiration for writing. this book inspired me to write what i feel and not to hold back anything. i congratulate her, and meow meow productions. be sure to read the book by shannon holmes, called : B-more careful. an excellent book indeed.
Rating: Summary: Serious Book Review: I believed that this book was great. If you haven't read this book you do no know what you are missing.I really liked this book becaue it gave a lot of details and it described everything exactly the way it was and you were able to picture everything in your mind. This book was so intense that I wasnt able to put it down, I read it in two days. However, not only was this book enetertaining and tells how life in the streets really is it also explains the consequences. This book had me crying on the train on my way home. I had to keep closing and opening the book and the people on the train were looking at me like I was crazy. If you havent read this book you dont know what your missing out on.
Rating: Summary: Good book but come on!! Review: I give the book 3 1/2 stars, it was wildly entertaining but come on, the lead character was a loser, if she wasn't giving up tail and cute (which is she had nothing to do with) would she have anything and besides the material this woman had no sense of conciousness. I know that this book is FICTION but art imitates life and she was a cluck head, no job, no skills and no way to truly support herself. Someone needs to write a book about what happens when chicken heads get old. That would wake some people up.
Rating: Summary: Better than the Coldest Winter Ever.........! Review: I loved this book! Mostly I liked that one could relate to the characters so well... and some parts were mad funny!! I read the Coldest Winter Ever and I don't think it comes close to this one! (but that's just me personally) Gena wasn't as immature as Winter, and I like the fact that Gena had Quadir, unlike Winter who just went around using and sexing insignificant characters in the book; that's why she got what she got in the end... The one thing that annoyed me about this book is that I came across tons of spelling errors from cover to cover!
Rating: Summary: Beautiful Review: This book is a most read. If you're not a book reader, this book will change your mind... Beautiful This book made me cry on the train going home.
Rating: Summary: This book was off the chain! You must read! Review: Yo fa real I couldn't put the book down. I read it in 3 days. It really touched me and made me think twice about love and money. I think that this book is really good for African American teens of all ages!!!
Rating: Summary: Keeping it real Review: This book was an interesting book about real life. This book related to me and it felt like my neighborhood. The book had suspense, betrayal, tragedy and excitement. The characters seemed as if they were real people dealing with real problems. This book is a book for those who know what it is to go through life in the hood. Also for those who have expirienced a harsh life.
Rating: Summary: The next to best thing ever written Review: Dear Teri Woods. I would just like to say that I really enjoyed reading this book and keep up the good work. And you need to keep writing these good books. Now almost everybody in my school has read this book and wrote a review about it. I would just like to say keep up the good work because this is just the first of many. Janquil
Rating: Summary: I loved it but wish the ending could have been better Review: I will try not to give away the story but I loved this book it really kept me going I read it in 3 days. I wish the ending could have been a lot better. What I got out of Gena is that although she loved Quadir would she have loved him with out the lifestyle and status. She did not change her life for the better after all the drama and in the end she was just as pathetic when she first started in the book and I was not happy about what she did but I learned that I am grateful for not having to live this kind of lifestyle. To the women who are out there living this kind of life I hope they read it and learn the hard lessons from this kind of life because in the end it is not worth it. I also found myself mad that the character Jerrell did not get what deserved I was definetely looking forward to that and got disappointed and I felt for Forty. I thought Quadir would have a better ending but that is not how it is in that life but I do recommend this book!!
