Review: True to the Game by Teri Woods is an incredibly interesting book. Once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down. The way it is written and the way the characters are described, it's just like reading a story written by a friend or someone close to me. This is the kind of life most teenagers are living nowadays, fast cars, drugs, violence, and sex.
Even though the book has misspelled words and the grammar isn't so perfect, the book in general is incredible. The main characters, Gena, Sahirah, and Quadir live in a life full of drugs, sex and violence. The setting takes place in Harlem, New York and in Philadelphia around the 1990's. Gena and Quadir are living a Cinderella-type of love, in a ghetto/dangerous way. The story has an easy to read plot.
I recommend this book to everyone. Once you start reading it, you would not put it down to until you have finished it. Most teenagers are living in denial about how their life is perfect but this book is a reflection of their lives.

Review: TRUE TO THE GAME IS MY ALL TIME FAVORITE BOOK. I HAVE READ MANY BOOKS, BUT I HAVE TO SAY THAT TRU TO THE GAME IS THE BEST. I KNOW QUADIR IS A FICTIONAL CHARACTER, AND I FEEL SILLY SAYING THIS, BUT I LOVE THAT MAN SO MIUCH. I WISH A MAN LIKE QUADIR WOULD COME INTO MY LIFE. HE MADE GENA FEEL LIKE A QUEEN. IF I WAS HER, I WOULDN'T KNOW WHAT I WOULD HAVE DONE AT THE END OF THE STORY. IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY READ THIS BOOK, I SUGGEST YOU GO PICK IT UP ASAP! AND IF YOU HAVE READ IT THEN READ IT AGAIN. I HAVE READ THIS LIKE 8 TIMES.

Summary: So True Blue
Review: I thought that this book was great, it was so true blue. I finished the book in one day. I had to read it again, because I read it so fast the first time. I have also read The Coldest Winter Ever, and I feel that they are both great. They are written from two different points of view. The Coldest Winter Ever was written from the daughter of a drug dealer point of view and True to the Game was written in the point of view of Gena who was raised in the projects and wanted a more direct role in the lifestyle and eventually placed herself in it. I connected more to True to the Game because I have been there in my life and have the emotional scars to prove it. I felt as though I was there. I laughed with the characters and cried with them. I agree with some of the other reviews, I wish some of the charaters had more depth to them and some of the charaters could have been left out. As the book came to an end some of it seemed unrealistic (if you have read the book you know what part I am talking about, $). Teri Woods was able to touch emotions in me that no other book so far has been to do. I would love to see this book made into a movie. To all the people that feel that this book was unreal it is proably due to 1 or 2.
1. Is it because you don't know anything about the game, but what you have heard and seen on the news.
2. The point of view the book was written in.
Please remember when you read urban tells they are fiction. Yes, parts of the book seem real while others seem far from the truth, but it is only a book of fiction intended for entertainment. I recommend this book to ALL fans of URBAN TELLS. Also check out the Coldest Winter Ever and B-More Careful.

Review: True to the Game was the best book I have ever read. I started reading lots of books when My boyfriend got locked up. So yes I've read The coldest Winter Ever, Be More Careful, when You look at me and more. Don't get me wrong they were all great books but True to the game touched my heart. It's the type of book you can finish in oneday because you can't wait to see what is going to happen next. I know guys like Quadir are the worst to have but somehow good girls always fall for his type. When the character's in the book cried, I cried as if it was me. When they had a great time I was there to see. If there is ever a movie and I'm hoping it will be. I would be honored to play Gina If I could get the opportunity. By the way thanks for writting a book that people in the hood can relate to. To the real Gina aka I don't know who thanks girl for sharing. Peace

Review: if you haven't read it, and if you have, read it again, i LOVED this book from begining to the end (except or two parts which i cant give out) this book reminded me of my life, my friends life, its just so real, i couldnt put it down, and i am reading it for a second time, this book really made me sit back and examine my own life, but if you havent read this book i highly suggest that you do

Review: thats a sign that i was touched by these characters. not only did i relate to them but i felt their struggles and their triumphs. they felt very real. i am a fan of street writing and being a skeptic I am always smacking my lips at how unbelievable some people portray the hustler's lifestyle to be. its not all riches an b**tches and if it is you will soon see that it can not and will not last. this was a book well written to keep your attention, I read this book during every spare moment I had over the weekend. as i sat and read i choked up and tried very hard to fight back tears. i know it sounds crazy but the situations in this book are very most definitely true to the game. Qua was a true man of life and this story is a must read!!!

Review: This book itself is unexplainable! I don't even know where to start. To me it showed a side of the world that I never knew exist. Whats so unbelievable is that this is reality no matter how you take it.
