Summary: hollywood, get your cheque book out!
Review: Now and again you read a book as though your living it!tension, timing, terror, its all there. No wonder I couldn't put it down. If we don't see Bruce Willis as Reacher then Hollywoods got its head up its arse. Next time you drive through manicured small town America I gurantee you'll feel uncomfortable. More please!!!!

Summary: A Compelling Novel,no other novel is quite like this.
Review: A Suspensfully detailed thriller,a great plot. Jack Reacher is a tough and compelling character. The first time author Lee Child knows what he's doing.I would recommend this book to any one who enjoys a riveting"Page-turner." "Killing Floor" is packed with action and suspense I can't wait to read "Die Trying."

Summary: Looking for a few hours of great entertainment? Read on!
Review: I enjoyed this book so much that the minute I finished it I went looking for his newest novel "Die Trying". "Killing Floor" is packed with action & suspense, with a great hero, Jack Reacher. Don't be taken by any harsh reviews. Although outrageous in some spots with one or two "over the top" coincidences, it's great entertainment all the same. A super read! One minor criticism. The "stacked" sentences (one very short sentence after the other) are a bit annoying. Although effective in some parts, it gives you the feeling that, like Grisham, Lee Child was asleep during most of 7th grade English. But the reader gets over that because the story is so good. The plot is unique and well thought through. Incredibly entertaining. Reacher is a wonderful character, especially when read from the "first person". I caught myself asking "how did Mr. Child think of that?". If you like Grisham, you'll probably really enjoy this book. Well Done!

Summary: Good atmos, appalling "hero"!
Review: I was really looking forward to this, going through a phase of thrillers set in the Deep South, and it started well. Unfortunately the "hero", Jack Reacher, turns out to be one of those heroes who I loathe - inflicting all manner of barbarity upon the opposition but, hey, that's okay because he's on the side of "good", and lets us know it throughout - barbaric heroes - another Jack, Carter, springs to mind - are ok but hypocritical ones are not.

This, for me, rendered the book uncompletable since I ended up wanting the villians to win, which would never happen.

1-star and that's just for some good descriptions of the general atmosphere and the town.

Summary: A COMPELLING READ!!
Review: I enjoyed this fast paced thriller by first time author, Lee Child. Jack Reacher was a compelling character, and the plot was interesting...Hopefully, Reacher will be @ for many more thrillers

Summary: Almost Awful
Review: Although Jack Reacher is compelling, this book is far from it. The plot is trite and the villains are virtually nonexistent. A dark, shadowy, tough guy, walks in a dusty crooked town run by a rich SOB. Boring. Sounds like every bad Patrick Swayze movie. Of course Reacher falls for the only single girl in town, too, and way too quickly. Child indulges Reacher's fondness for cracking heads, but that was the lone bright spot for me. Otherwise, Killing Floor is a predictable, unoriginal, and disappointing read.

Summary: Powerful and violent just the way I like it!
Review: With fast-paced action and creative plot twists, Lee Child's done something I couldn't fathom--write a character (Jack Reacher) who's every bit the man and hero of Stephen Hunter's, Bob Lee Swagger lore. With a compelling first-person narrative, you discover Reacher's depth of character in his love of Roscoe versus his untamed violence. It's a real page-turner! I'm overwhelmingly impressed and plan to read "Die Trying" immediately.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A great read: great character, great plot.
Review: Lee Child has set up a "situation" and leads the reader step by step into the truly fantastic but also quite beliveable plot. Just a bit slow at times. However the rest of the time our hero is going at 90 miles an hour all over the South. A very good read.
