Summary: Bad writing, bad editing, OK plot
Review: I threw this book away when I finished, something I reserve for opuses that I'm disgusted with myself for getting through. (I've done with Grisham, too, so I suppose that augurs well for O'Reilly. The basic problem is that he can't write. And yeah, the TV business is cutthroat, but we already know that. So ... wooden characters, wooden writing, a wooden (paperback) book.

Summary: I really liked this book!
Review: Bill O'Reilly's first novel Those Who Trespass signals a raconteur to be reckoned with. O'Reilly might turn out to be to the television news media world what John Grisham is to the legal profession, a great storyteller.

Fast paced action, interesting characters, and a look inside the television news media world not available to the layman.

The only question now is whether or not O'Reilly can find the time away from his highly successful one hour television show on the Fox News Network at 8:00 PM Eastern to write another novel.

I, for one, hope he finds the time.

Summary: Could not put it down. Fun reading.
Review: Tells a great action-suspense story about ego-ridden TV press corps

Summary: Nobody Does It Better
Review: Bill O'Reilly is arguably the best interviewer on television to come down the pike in a long -- perhaps much too long -- time. His penetrating questions and ability to get at the truth are unparalleled on primetime television (are you listening Geraldo and Larry King?). Now, O'Reilly turns his iconoclastic eye towards his own profession in an excellent novel that blends the drama of the news room with the suspense of a murder investigation. He draws from his experience in television journalism and his knowledge of police work (his grandfather was a cop) to provide the reader with a first-class excursion into a world many only dream of inhabiting. Nobody does it better.

Summary: Completely new slant in writing, great story.
Review: This really is a "can't put down book". The characters are very vivid. The twisting and turning plot, the little history lessons and the overall tone along with the Irish brogue are wonderful. I hope there is another book brewing. Thanks, Bill O'Reilly, you write super stuff.

Summary: CAPTURING
Review: One advise: When you start reading this book, make shure you have a beverage and snack of your choice next to you. You will not get up and forget the world around you. You have been warned. Johann Samlowski

Summary: O'Reilly Proves He Can Do More Than Report The News
Review: This is a "can't put down" read with well-developed characters and a pace that keeps you turning the pages. Tommy O'Malley's description of his born-again ex-wife is hysterical and Ashley's romantic interludes sizzle. The only truly "bad" thing about this book is it ended.

Summary: 87th Precinct Meets Lois Lane
Review: Nothing like a few less TV anchor men and they are knocked off in spendid fashion. This was a 2-day read and any time I can finish a book in two days - bravo!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: QUICK READ - INSTANT FAN
Review: Bill O'Reilly gets you up front and personal with behind the scenes news reporting. Tommy O'Malley is a likeable guy and Ashley makes a great sparring partner. The pacing is well thought out and the reader is kept in the dark as to the identity of the killer until the last few chapters.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great mystery! Well written with an inside look at the media
Review: Aside from an off-the-beaten-path plot, the author has an extraordinary knack of putting you in the midst of his scenarios, such as the Argentine mob scene at the very beginning. It's peppered throughout with character descriptions matching real life crazies, sometimes bringing smiles of recognition to the reader. O'Reilly's appetite for facts and his penchant for teaching shows up in fascinating descriptions, such as the overview of East Harlem to put the reader there with the characters. It's more like being at a theater, rather than reading a book. It's that good. Throughout the book the reader is in a constant state of suspense trying to place each TV, police, or romantic character into a niche, but up to the last page, you can't do it, so just read on and enjoy every word. I did!
