Rating: Summary: Stephanie Plum rides again Review: Once again Janet Evaonivich invites us along on a wild ride known as Stephanie Plum's life. As Stephanie is again partnered with Ranger in the hunt for a bond jumper that takes her all the way to Vegas. In the mean time she herself is the prey of a hunter. To the Nines is a madcap adventure with an exciting climax.
Rating: Summary: This is the best book since Hot Six!!! Review: I loved this book, and had so many laugh out loud moments. In a few I was crying I was laughing so hard! It was hard to finish, I did not want it to end. I relly felt the book shold be at least 300 pages longer, (must be too used my Harry Potters).Tons of Morelli and Ranger like in the old books, none of this one or the other thing. They take turns guarding her because as usual she has some freak chasing her. I got lots of laughs from Lulu, and Connie goes on a trip to Vegas with Lulu & Steph. Ranger and Joe take turns being her bodyguard, and now instead of blowing up Rangers cars, she is injuring the bodyguards he puts on her. Typical Steph!! This book is worth the hard back price. This book also seems to stand on it's own, I do not think you need the background to read this. It is funny no matter what! Buy it now!!
Rating: Summary: too short Review: Just like all her other books, this book was hilarious. I like the plot of this book a lot. My only real complaint is that it was too short. I really hope that the next book is longer.
Rating: Summary: Couldn't Put It Down Review: I loved this book. I got it last night around 8:30 PM and finished it by Midnight. It definitely lived up to the expectations I had for this Plum novel. One of my favorite things about this series is the interaction between Joe, Ranger and Stephanie. In this book, when Stephanie's life is in danger, Joe and Ranger work together in order to protect her. Kind of nice to see that they can put aside any problems to protect Stephanie. Stephanie's family has gotten even crazier since the previous book, Valerie is falling from her place as the good child. Grandma Mazur fantisizes about Ranger anytime she sees him. And Mom spends lots of time in the kitchen ironing and cooking. Stephanie was, yet again, the person that someone was trying to kill. I won't tell you who wants to kill her, it would ruin the surprise. Overall this was one of my favorite of the Stephanie Plum series. I can't wait for the next one to come out!
Rating: Summary: The Stephanie Plum Show Review: I started at 'One for the Money' and reread every book in order this last month in preparation for this latest in the Plum saga. Janet Evanovich NEVER disappoints. Just when I can't see where else she can take Steph, Ranger, Morelli and the rest of the crew, she does it again! Every book in this series is stand alone good, but for someone who really knows the 'Jersey girl', (I'm on the wrong side of the Delaware River, as far as Steph would see it) I am so addicted that I'm pining for the next book now that I finished the latest! One of the coolest threads throughout the series is that both Ranger and Morelli continue to tease, tantalize, and deliver on all that sizzle for Steph and she doesn't really have to choose between them! Damn skippy! I had to do the dryness check because I was laughing so hard at the way Steph was laying waste to the Rangemen. The water breaking scene made me incoherent with laughter. Please don't make it a long time before the next book, although I will continue to savor 'To The Nines' while I wait.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful! Review: I couldn't put it down. It is as fun as the other eight. All the favorites are here. Stephanie is still the luckiest bounty hunter, Lula is still as great as ever. Morrelli and Ranger are still hot, and Stephanie's family is still great. Story line was wonderful. I don't know what else to say without the risk of spoiling anything. Now I have to wait the nevt twelve months or so for number 10. It is a great read that caused me to smile a number of times.
Rating: Summary: Yes it is " Just as Good".... Review: The lastest in the Stephanie Plum series will make you laugh out loud as all the previous books have. All the much loved characters make an appearance and the mystery will not disappoint. It is a very quick read! The only downside...How long do we have to wait for the next one?
Rating: Summary: To the Nines was written for a fifth grader Review: This book was written in the language of a fifth grader. I felt like I was reading about Jack and Jill. Besides being utterly annoyed with the simplistic story-telling, I found the plot slow and silly.
Rating: Summary: Maybe Janet Should Slow Down... Review: I've been hooked on the Stephanie Plum series ever since my mother gave me copies of "One for the Money" and "Two for the Dough." But "To the Nines," when compared to the previous eight books in the series, just didn't quite have that swing.
The difficulties of keeping a series fresh and interesting are understandable, and with ten books in the Plum series (and an eleventh on the way), Janet Evanovich has got to be itching to take a break. And considering she's continuing this series while simultaneously pursuing other projects ("Metro Girl," the "Full" series), writing about Stephanie Plum has got to seem like a job to her at this point. The problem is, it's showing in her writing. Much of the humor in "To the Nines" seemed forced and there was a rushed quality to the writing, like Evanovich was trying to crank this out by a certain deadline. However, "Nines" did have its moments. I particularly enjoyed the chapter in which Stephanie's self-appointed sidekick Lula disrupts a Vegas performance of a Tom Jones impersonator.
Evanovich deserves her props for keeping the Plum series entertaining and fun for eight books, at least. But perhaps it's time Janet slow down, take a long break, relax a little bit, and recharge her creative engines. Readers will wait. We promise.
