Rating: Summary: Knights & romance Review: I really enjoyed this book & could not put it down. It deals with modern times and connections to the past when old documents are found. Fundalmentalists Christians will find it offensive because it suggests ideas they will not like, but if you have an open mind you will enjoy it.
Rating: Summary: Romance & adventure Review: I think this book would appeal to both men and women because of the excitment, adventure, and romance. The book overlaps two time periods and keeps the reader involved from the beginning.I recommend it for an enjoyable break from everyday stress!
Rating: Summary: Do you love an adventure? Review: If you like adventure, romance, and history in a fast moving novel, you will like this book. It spans two time periods and keeps you interested from the beginning. Two plots from two time periods are tied together by finding ancient relics! It's like the style of Raiders of the Lost Arc.
Rating: Summary: Romance and history Review: If you like romance and history with a mystic link to knights of the past, you'll enjoy this book. I was enthralled with the love stories that passed back and forth from modern times with the mystic link to ancient love story. The book kept my attention from the beginning. I could not stop. I stayed up late and read it in one night
Rating: Summary: Truth, Honor, Love Review: In days of old when knights were bold...this novel brings Crusaders to life. Was their goal a kingdom of heaven on Earth? Who are the descendants of Jesus? Why does the woman who discovers this secret information become a target? Can she find the inner strength to survive? This book celebrates the everlasting qualities of love!!
Rating: Summary: Defenders of the Holy Grail Review: Interesting premise, but very poorly written. The book reads more like an outline than a completed work. It has no drama or passion. Too bad, since this is an extremely important subject. This century will see the emergence of Mary Magdalene as a key religious and historical figure.
Rating: Summary: Not that great Review: Interesting subject matter, and with all the glowing reviews I expected much more from this book. The ending was a HUGE disappointment, and the characters were not very realistic. I didn't really care about anyone or anything that happened. The songs were distracting, not romantic and inspirational.
Rating: Summary: A Great Book with Two Themes Review: Ken Agori has written a provocative novel that captures your attention from the start. The initial plot about a New England school teacher on summer vacation on Nantucket is interwoven with a compelling story set during the Crusades. All of the characters in both stories are beautifully drawn and developed. The discovery by Elise, the teacher, of ancient manuscripts leads into the Crusade story. After the documents are interpreted, a string of sudden deaths (murders?) occur. The reader is fascinated as one story moves from Nantucket to the Cape to Maine, while the Crusade story goes from France to the Holy Land. The transition from one time period to the other is skillfully accomplished. As the story unfolds the tie between the ancient and the modern is very smoothly done through the mesage in the manuscripts, an ancient locket and hauntingly beautiful music. To reveal more would give away the plots and this is a book you should read for yourself. Put it at the top of your summer reading list! If you enjoy a modern romance with suspense, a second fascinating story line, all beautifully written, you will share my enthusiasm for it. It will make a great movie!
Rating: Summary: I agree--don't be fooled--NOT a quality book. Review: The inappropriate, and unnecessary, foul language and romping sexual adventures detract from what might have been an interesting topic and an interesting writing style (similar to Nevil Shute's in 'An Old Captivity,' 'The Rainbow and the Rose,' and 'In the Wet.') The book is bothersome to read, what with its short, choppy, 4th-grade reading level sentence structures and its endless 'songs.' If you are truly interested in the ideas posited in this book, I would suggest Gardner's 'Bloodline of the Holy Grail.' It is a quite good read, is based on much research, and is a class act compared to this poorly-proofread (especially with to/too, + pg 50 and pg 120) novel.
Rating: Summary: Romance is not dead! Review: The magic in this book is timeless. A wronged woman overcomes...Love survives betrayals and conspiracy. There ARE real men out there. The plot is based on extensive reserach on the Crusades. It appears the book was shortened by a publisher. but the pace is quick. Doesn't Jesus mean LOVE? The lyrics are wonderful, and now there is a CD available from elfstone publishing. OLiver STone, wake up and make this movie!
