Rating: Summary: Take a break & follow Elise back in time Review: A friend recommended this book and I just loved it. This book has it all - excitement, intrigue, mystery, murder, and romance. As I read each page, I felt as though I was right there with Elise, hearing, seeing, touching all that she encountered. I especially loved being taken back in time to relive the lives of the "Defenders of the Holy Grail". I kept my faith in Katherine and when she lost her beloved Reed, I knew she would carry on. Elise became a modern-day Katherine and I could easily have read another 200 pages. I hope there is a sequel and would love a chance to watch "Defenders of the Holy Grail" on the big screen.
Rating: Summary: A summer treat Review: A wild ride.Junps from knights to the year 2000. This book keeps your interest and more. Two of the "songs" keep going through my mind, so I plan to read this again. It is far more entertaining than your usual novel. Predictable it is NOT!
Rating: Summary: Fast moving, action, knights, and love Review: After reading the other reviews I was all set for an interesting read. Sadly I was disappointed. The writer could have used a good editor to even out the plot and cause less confusion between stream of conscious writing and parallel plot. As this subject has been examined ad infinitum, there was nothing fresh in the concept, the characters with the exception of Elise were all pretty flat. The cover offered great promise, but sadly the book didn't deliver.
Rating: Summary: Sappy and uneven Review: After reading the other reviews I was all set for an interesting read. Sadly I was disappointed. Rating: Summary: Moving through bitterness to love. Review: As a wman angered by the deceitful actions of my ex-partner, I resonated with this novel. Sometimes we move through hate and vengeance, we learn and we begin to live. Yes, the messages about Jesus are very appropriate. (Perhaps if priests could marry little boys would be safe from their clutches.) I wanted to now MORE about the characters. But I was moved in a unique way by this very creative offering.
Rating: Summary: Love will survive Review: Call now and order this book. It is UNIQUE. When I finished this book, I wanted more. Who is to say of Jesus was married? When church leaders allow priests to prey on our young but forbid them to marry we have spiritual leaders gone insane. I realize his editors probably chopped a lot out, as I believe he is a new author. I wanted to know more about the amazing characters. What a pleasure to have women as the champions. I have heard the songs and they are wonderful. I cannot wait until a brave director does the movie. It is a book in search of, as there is a lot of action but not enough for most men. Too much fo some women?
Rating: Summary: not as good as they say Review: Do not be fooled by the glittering reviews. This is not a good book. It tries to be an action adventure murder mystery, set against the theories that jesus had children, and that the crusades were his children's attempt to retake their rightful land. The problems are that it does not develop this theory enough to be plausible (ooh, a secret book explains it) to those new to the field, but offers nothing new to anyone who has read up on this stuff. If you are interested in the theory that jesus had children, read holy blood holy grail. If you have read that then stay away from this book at all costs because you'll be bored. On top that, the fiction portion is as, if not even more, underdeveloped. The characters are wooden at best, and the plot is standard. The other reviewers mention songs, but who cares! If you want poetry read frost. Once again I offer this warning, stay away!
Rating: Summary: Knights & love stories, interwoven into today Review: I found this book very interesting especially because I enjoy love stories and history. In this book, the author takes you on a journey back and forth between a modern day adventure and an ancient one during the medieval crusades. The time travel is accompished by a modern vacationer discovering ancient documents! I found the story facinating.
Rating: Summary: Empowerment and Love Review: I highly recommend this book. It presents women as real, warts and all. But the 2 heroines grow and soar...It made me cry. The songs add a very different tone. At first I didn't know what to make of them. Then I stepped out of my "novel box" and resonated with them! You will never forget this book!
Rating: Summary: adventure & romance Review: I loved this book. There was lots of action, adventure, romance, traveling back in time from the present to the crusades. Great reading for the summer.
