Rating: Summary: A suspense novel that is worth reading. Review: WEEP NO MORE MY LADY by Mary Higgins Clark Bantan Doubleday Dell Publishing Group, Inc. 1987 360 pages Elizabeth Lange, sister of the famouse Leila LaSelle, was determined to put the actess's killer in prison. Leila had bee depresses and moody after receiving a series of poisen-pen letters which led her to drinking. At this point in time, suicide seemed a legitimate escape, that is until a witness cam forth caliming she saw Leila stuggle with her boyfriend, Ted Winters. It was then that Elizabeth began thinking about the conversation she held with her Leila the night of her death, and more closely, the voices she heard in the background. After going over her testimony for the trial agianst Ted, she reluctantly decided to accept an offer to Cypress Point Spa. Min, a close friend of Elizabeth and Leila, insisted she come and relax. Little did Elizabeth know she was going to be put face to face with her sister's killer, as well as many other suspects, all of which were friends of her's. This novel was very enjoyable to read; also a true page-turner. If you have ever read any other novel by Clark, you will find this novel as exciting as many of her others. If not, this novel would be a great Clark novel to start out with. She tends to change the narrator quite often and this change may confuse some readers. This may not be a problem, and if not, this novel should be a perfect one for many who enjoy suspense mysteries. I highly recommend this novel; read Mary Higgins Clark's Weep No More My Lady and find out who was the killer of Leila LaSelle. ~Reviewed by Gemma Patel~
Rating: Summary: I couldn't put it down!! Review: A really wonderful and spenceful book!! I loved the mystery and romance all in one wonderful book!!!
Rating: Summary: Absorbing, but like most MHC, loses steam... Review: "Weep No More, My Lady" is a light, engaging read, perfect if you just want to be entertained for a few hours, worthless if you actually appreciate quality entertainment. Although the plot becomes more intriguing and complex as the story progresses, there is really little suspense and the final chapters, in which the killer is revealed, are a real let-down. A big, fat disappointment.
Rating: Summary: This was an excellent book! Review: This book was perfect for reading while waiting in an airport. It was very suspenseful and you never knew whodunnit until the last couple of chapters.
Rating: Summary: Who killed my sister? Review: This book is about a woman who has to face the death of her older sister whom she has always loved. Her sister: Leila has always taken care of her. Even when they were younger and her mother's husband was touching on them and stuff. Leila left when she was 18-years-old and took Elizabeth with her. They go off to New York and Leila makes it big. Leila gets murdered and everyone thinks that her boyfriend did it. Elizabeth does not know whom to turn to, but she does know she is going to find out who killed her sister even if it endangers her own life. This book was very good. I really enjoyed it. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading.
Rating: Summary: Not the best MHC book I've ever read Review: This book was definitely the slowest and least consuming MHC book I've read, and I've read a lot. It was too slow, not scary or suspenseful enough, and too easy to predict who the true killer was. Don't get me wrong, it was a good book, but just weak compared to her others. I recommend reading Loves Music Loves To Dance and Let Me Call You Sweetheart if you like true suspense and a great whodunit.
Rating: Summary: Still the All-Time best Mary Higgins Clark! Review: "Weep No More My Lady" is my all-time favorite murder-mystery by Mary Higgins Clark. I love that the main character, Elizabeth Lange, is actually investigating the murder of a close family member, and that the accused is also someone she is close to. This was the best part of the story, because the main character actually had a REASON to be personally invested in the truth about the murder! I really enjoyed how Clark eluded to the identity of the villain throughout the story, but never revealed it until the end! I had no idea who it would be! Also, this book brought out two great new characters in Alvirah and Willy Meehan! "Weep No More My Lady" remains the Best Mary Higgins Clark to date!
Rating: Summary: very good Review: i applaud mary higgins clark for this book. i read it last year and i read a lot of her books. i ussually guess who the killer is and get it wrong. this was the first and only killer that i suspected and was correct. i love the book and how the ending turns out. it is a very scary book and excellent to read!
Rating: Summary: A real page turner! Review: As my first Mary Higgins Clark novel, I was pleasantly surprised with "Weep No More My Lady". This book had everything: suspense, intrigue, romance, a real page turner! Near the end I couldn't put it down because I was so caught up in the mystery of who killed Leila LaSalle. I plan to read more novels by MHC. Great book with a climatic ending that will leave you breathless and wanting more!
Rating: Summary: Weep No More My Lady is an excellent book. Review: Do you like mystery? Do you like suspense? Do you enjoy books that you can't put down? How about books with all sorts of twists and turns? If you do read "Weep No More My Lady" by Mary Higgins Clark. This book includes all of the traits listed above. "Weep No More My Lady" is very well written. You never know what to expect. "Weep No More My Lady" is about Leila LaSalle, a famous movie star who is murdered. The suspect of the murder is the victim's fiancee. The story is about the suspect's defense and how he prepares a testimony. At the same time the prosecution is putting together their case. All the suspects are Leila LaSalle's personal, close friends. While you are reading the book you also begin to catch on to all of Leila LaSalle's friends motives to kill her. While each side is getting ready for the trial both sides begin to find out more information than they would have liked too. All of Leila's friends become suspects of the murder and candidates for the next victim. The worst aspect of the book is it takes a while for the story to really pick up. That's because the author has to build up the story. Be sure to keep reading because once it picks up it's great. The best aspect is you can't put this book down once that happens. This book really makes you think, are your friends really your friends? In "Weep No More My Lady" anything is possible. Another great aspect is Mary Higgins Clark makes you fell like you are there. She makes it possible to visualize everything. "Weep No More My Lady" is excellent.
