Summary: Krantz/Sheldon glitz meets Christie/Sayers cozy mystery
Review: There's something very 1980's about this story. This story revolves around the death of a movie star and has a kind of glitz that doesn't seem to be so popular these days. (Maybe it's just because I haven't read a Judith Krantz or Sidney Sheldon novel since those days.) All the same, it's a solid potboiler with glamorous players in beautiful settings (highrise Manhattan and a spa near Pebble Beach). Fun, light reading.

I liked Elizabeth Ashley's reading on the abridged audiocassette. Her gravel edged voice (think Lauren Bacall) is pleasant for my ear and she did a good job of character voices. The abridgement followed well and it was pretty easy to keep track of all of the players -- most of whom could be the murderer.

Summary: One of MHC's best!
Review: This is one of the best MHC books I have read. It is thrilling and suspenseful. When Elizabeth Lange's actress sister, Leila LaSalle, dies by falling over the balcony of her penthouse apartment, most assume suicide. Until....a witness comes foward to reveal she saw Leila being pushed over her balcony by her fiance and millionaire, Ted Winters. Then Elizabeth recieves a letter from her friend Sammy, a secretary at Cypress Point Spa, telling her that Leila had been recieving poison-pen letters from someone she knew and trusted. Desperate to meet with Sammy, Elizabeth rushes to the spa. There, she begins to wonder if Ted is the murderer after all..... This book casts suspicion on one person after another, finally leading up to the suspenseful finale.....this book kept me guessing until the ending, which is very good, not at all dissapointing like in some suspense or mystery books. Totally worth reading

Summary: MHC once again deserves the crown for suspense
Review: Once again MHC has written a story where anyone can be the bad guy. You begin to question everybody. Elizabeth's famous sister was murdered (or was she?) by her sister's fiance Ted. Elizabeth is the star witness again Ted in the upcoming trial for murder. she receives an invitation from her dear friend for a week of relation at her friend's spa. Unknownly, her friend the Countess, has also invited all the key players to her sister's murder including the fiance, Ted. Elizabeth also meets Alvirah Meehan (The lottery winner) who unknownly helps to find the real killer. Enjoy trying to figure this one out.

Summary: Not my last MHC book
Review: This is my first Mary Higgins Clark book, and I don't believe it will be my best. At first, I tried reading some old classic novel, but I just couldn't get into it. Then I picked up this book that my grandmother gave me and I could not stop reading it. It was so suspenseful and intriguing that I just had to keep reading. All of the characters had some aspect about their personalities that made you think that they were the killer. The questions of Who? and Why? are always in your mind. The setting is a luxurious spa in California (one that I wouldn't mind visiting if it actually existed) and it always keeps you interested. This is why I like these kinds of books. Mary Higgins Clark, Sidney Sheldon, Jonathon Kellerman - they are all great suspense writers who know how to tell a great suspense story. Which is perfect for this time of year: it's summer and you want a book that will keep you occupied throughout the story and that is what this book does.

Summary: Awesome!
Review: This is my all time favorite book. Mary Higgins Clark is my favorited author and this is my favorite of all her books. I love the way she describes the characters. It's like I've known them all my life. She doesn't let anything get passed you. And she gives you just enough information that it intrigues you so much and you just have to keep reading to find out more.

Summary: Mary Higgins Clark at her best
Review: Having read Weep No More, My Lady at least three times and being an avid Higgins Clark reader, I have to say that Mary Higgins Clark definitely put her best work into said book. The plot intrigued me like no other book of hers I have ever read. In Weep No More, My Lady, Elizabeth Lange, a young actress, is grieving over her sister's death more than one year later. Her sister, Leila LaSalle, was murdered at her New York apartment. Preparing to testify against her dead sister's fiancee following his murder indictment in the case, an old friend of hers and accused murderer, Ted Winters, invites her to stay at lovely Cypress Point Spa in California-while Ted is also staying there. Her stay at the spa allows Elizabeth to dwell on her testimony and ponder whether or not it is accurate. As Elizabeth begins to unveil the truth, she is faced with danger. A great book-I definitely recommend this to any Mary Higgins Clark or general suspense fan. A definite page-turner. I could not set this book down!

Summary: Where's my Visene?
Review: I literally could not put this book down. It took me less than 2 days to finish it. Needless to say, I'm red-eyed and exhausted.

I LOVED THIS BOOK! It is one of her best! MHC has done it again...left me red-eyed and wondering...who could have been the killer? Boy was I surprised...I had no idea until the "revelation" at the very end.

MHC definitely keeps the suspense going with numerous suspicious characters...Ted, Syd, Cheryl, Nim, Helmut, etc.

You have to read this one. You won't know who "dunnit" unless you read it to the very end.

Summary: Best Book Yet!
Review: The book is about an actress that gets killed. Her ex-husband gets blamed for her death, but later on it is learned that the killer is one of the victim's close friends. The book has a lot of suspense, and I really recomend the book to people who like to read for a long time beause once you start you can't put the book down. I really enjoyed it because things like that really do happen to actresses and actors, and I love Marry's style of writing.
