Summary: This book was excellent!!!
Review: This book was non-stop action! I hope it is eventually made into a movie. This made Jaws look like a guppy.I can't wait to read The Trench!!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Don't expect me to go swimming again!
Review: I enjoyed Meg immensly! Some books you have to struggle to read, others you can't put down, and Meg was certaintly, the latter. Full of action, suspense, gore, detail, it's a thrilling ride from start to finish! Looking forward to reading The Trench next, which I hear is just as good!

Summary: Excellent
Review: What is scary about this book is that it is probably true . It is very likely that Megalodons still live in the Mariana Trench.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Vivid shark attack
Review: A large, supposedly-extinct shark (Carcharodon megalodon) lurks in the Marianas Trench in the Pacific Ocean. Nice action and details. Those of you who enjoyed Meg will certainly want to read the new novel Spider Legs by Piers Anthony -- it describes the mayhem produced by large sea spiders on the coast of New Foundland!

Summary: What?! Good You Say! When?!
Review: Ok,I'm not the type to rank on someone's book. They put quite a bit of work into writing a novel. But this book has got to be the worst novel I have ever read. And As I read it, I kept asking myself "Why? Why am I reading this? Why am I trying to finish it?" I read most of the reviews and most were saying how great this book was, better than Jaws. So I said hey what the heck! I picked it up and it started out really good the first chapter was really exciting, and then it was all down hill from there. How can anyone say this is better than Jaws? Jaws is a classic, and anyone who said this is better than Jaws did not read the book, they only saw the movie. I was around when Jaws was first published. I was 13 and I was terrified of the water. If this book came out then, I wouldn't have been frightened. And if you read Jaws you would have known that Benchley was writing about a MEG but figured no one would belive it, so he changed it to a Great White Shark. I can kind of understand the reviews, they are mostly kids who were not even thought of when Jaws was written. They have never read the book and when I read some of there reviews I'm surprised they can read. The spelling, my Lord, I can't belive these kids are in school and getting away w/the spelling they are doing. No wonder there is so much question about our school system in this contry. But back to the book save your money. Like Disney is doing...the movie plan is cancelled. They don't want to waste their money. If you'll notice Doubleday is saving money also, they DID NOT publish Trench a sequel to this trash someone eles did, look at the binding of Trench. Says something when a Movie Company and a Publisher both drop you in a two year span. Hummmm. Makes you think.I was also being kind with the one star, there was nothing lower, if there was I would have taken it, belive me!

Summary: Could not put it down
Review: Steven Alten has done an excelent job in writing a spine tingling, what's going to happen next, novel that is almost impossible to put down. With the idea of Jaws and a shark as smart as the one's in Deep Blue Sea, Alten creates the all to familiar fear of going back in the water. MEG will keep the reader on the edge of their seats and out of their bath tubs with the great action, scientific interest, and a unique finish that can only lead up to the sequeal which is also great. I give this book my highest rating and would one day love to see the movie.

Summary: good till the end not!
Review: I found this book very captivating to the point I had to finish it that night. I was disappointed when at 1:30 AM I came to the last 30 pages or so and the ending turned out to be a huge let down. It was as though the author had a dead line and could not take the time for the ending in which he took for the rest of the book. The ending was not at all realistic where the rest of the book was at least possible. I did give him another chance and read the sequel The Trench. I have to say this time he did not let me down. I look forward to reading more from him in the future.

Summary: Great book! Can't wait for a sequel
Review: I read the review & was intrigued by the plot so I bought the book & in less than 6 hrs. had it read & wanting more.I think Mr.Alten has a writing style that's a cross between Clive Cussler & Michael Crichton which isn't bad at all.I hope he writes more (a sequel to this book would be nice).

Summary: Once I started I couldn't put it down..........
Review: I bought the book this past summer while on vacation based on a friend saying it was great. I had started it that evening only putting it down to sleep, (with great wicked dreams), but by the next morning I had picked it up again and finished that next afternoon.. It was so visual ever word left a clear picture running through my head even today, a whole year later... I had hope it would have been made into a movie by now, but I guess I'm stuck with this years wimpy DEEP BLUE SEA instead.... Oh well maybe the producers who gave up the money for DEEP BLUE SEA will kick themselves for passing up a real shark movie named MEG..... Steve Alten is a strong writer that uses facts to bring his books to life instead of make believe 65/70 foot Great White Sharks of old or sluggishly computer generated 35 footers of this years new movie flop...... Brian Weaver (MEG/THE TRENCH fan for life)

Summary: This Book Was Awsome!!!!
Review: I could not even put this book down at all. I loved everything about MEG, Jaws is a guppy compared to meg. The only negative i have about this book is...It should have been 10 times as long! lol Great work Steve! As of now you are my favorite author.
