Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: One of the best books I've ever read. I read it first in the summer of '97, but must have read it 2 or 3 times after that. I even did a book report on it, and I made a movie with legos and giant sharks as part of my project. I now want to read The Trench and Extinct. I think there should be a movie/TV mini series. Steve Alten deserves respect for this.
Rating: Summary: Makes me scared to go in the ocean... Review: Meg was a good book. I must have read it 5 or 6 times...Isuggest you buy it RIGHT AWAY! Once you start reading you get socought up you become a part of the story. I LoVED IT! -but where's the movie...
Rating: Summary: Dinosaur Shark on the prowl!!! Review: Good story but pretty much typical. Like Jaws, only bigger, whiter and more dangerous. My favorite chapter was the one with the surfers--well-written with humor and adventure. I wish more of the chapters had been like this and that the character of Jonas was a little more developed. But I did like the play on his name (like Jonah swallowed by the whale in the Bible).
Rating: Summary: It Was Great!!!! Review: This book had everything action, drama a giant monster that ate people and of course many explosions!!! The climactic end was one of the most amazing and original one ever that I have read!!!1 You Must Read This Book.
Rating: Summary: Sorry Douglas Review: I herd on the Internet Movie Database a movie based on this book was going to come out in the summer of 2000 but recently on Cinescape.com an interview with the supposed director of the film said that filming was cancelled,he feared that it would be a major bomb much like Godzilla.Sorry.
Rating: Summary: A great read! Review: A little slow at the start. Once the book gets moving, it's a real page turner.
Rating: Summary: Intriguing Review: MEG was an interesting book from the outset, with a MEG taking out a T-Rex. After that I was hooked! Okay - so some people whine about this not being right or that not being right... SO WHAT!!! It's a fictional book! I like so many others want to see a MEG movie. The concept of the book runs like a movie, with a great plot; the characters were weak, but the star was obviously the Megolodon. Mr. Alten has struck gold with this book! Don't spoil it with a sequel...
Rating: Summary: WHERE'S THE MOVIE?!?!? Review: Excellent book, a real page turner. The thought of a 60 foot White shark in our modern day world wreaking havoc on unsuspecting people who have no idea of it's capabilities. I have to see this on film, talk about JAWS 2001! This would scare a whole new generation of people out of the water again! Very exciting book.
Rating: Summary: It's not just the big shark that smells like decaying fish Review: The plot does, too. And the cast. It was an entertaining premise, but mark my words, children: with rare exceptions, never pick up any dodgy novels without a rave-review or two on the jacket! OK I know they can be totally off-the-wall, but still, when a first novel like this doesn't have ANY quotes at ALL on the back, u know there's something wrong. And there is. This pathetic hybrid between Michael Crichton and Peter Benchley will never come close to their greatness. It probably would be entertaining to some pre- or early-teen readers, but anyone else who enjoyed this in the slightest (enjoyed READING it, not throwing it onto a bonfire and cackling manically) should give their head a good shake and see if they can hear anything rattle. "The terror that time forgot"!--perhaps with a brick, some string, and a good deep canal, we can keep it that way.
Rating: Summary: I hate reading, but I couldn't put MEG down for a minute! Review: I can't wait for the movie so the rest of the world can experience this awsome story!
