Summary: A fast, thrilling ride...
Review: Okay, so what if this book reads like a Jaws movie? It was still good, and the plot twists made it interesting. Not only that, it was a fast-paced read that had a lot of excitement. Needless to say, I enjoyed this book more than I'd expected to. What did I like you ask? Well to begin with, the book started off with interesting events -- and interesting people -- and continued on in that same vein. The characters didn't have a whole lot of depth, but they had enough to carry this story through to the end. The interactions between the characters made for one subplot while the prehistoric shark made for another. Both were interesting. The descriptions of under water surroundings was good enough to make me feel as if I were there worrying about pressurizing correctly as I ascended from the dark depths. And the action was so good that a few times I found myself holding my breath as I waited to hear what would happen next. I'll admit that one predicament that a character found himself in makes you stretch your imagination almost to the breaking point, but it was darned interesting to see how he got himself out of that situation nonetheless. If you're looking for a literary masterpiece, this "ain't" the book for you. If you're looking for a quick rush from an entertaining read, then this is it. I've got to go now. I've got to order the sequel.

Review: this was a pretty good suspense book.even more fascinating is the fact that these 60 foot sharks once existed.the book is informative when it needs to and intense.when i read the first few pages and read that a meg could easily kill a t-rex if it had the chance,i only imagined in amazement the sight of this now extinct monster.i recommend this book for anyone who is looking for a quick read.go for it.

Review: This is the most ambitious and flawed book I have ever read. The plot is ridicoulos and the ending more far fetched than I could have ever possibly conceived. Surely, should this be translated to film then it will be a suitable companion to Jaws - The Revenge! If you love monster stories then you may enjoy this, but for me it lacked any real depth, pardon the pun. The charactertisation is practicaly non-existant, pretty much like the fish itself. This is on a plain with the vampire flick 'Fright Night' in that the character names - Peter Vincent - Jonas Taylor, being reminiscent of Jonah and the Whale and perhap Jon/Valerie Taylor , et al? One final point: Ok, when they die,sharks don't float but whales do: Testiment to how unplausible the author's theory really is. Afterall thats a HUGE bite radius! - But let's not spoil the fun.

Review: This is one of the books that teenagers can enjoy too. I would read it during class and end up getting it taken away from me! It is full of suspense and action. It may be a little gruesome but i think it still is worth 5 stars!

Summary: MEG a novel of deep terror
Review: I loved this magnificent book.Im only 15 and this was the first and still number on novel I have ever read besides part two (The TRENCH). I think that the books elements were all good. It had excellent settings charachters and the plot was the greatest one I ever saw. It made me wright my first book.

Review: This is one of the few books that I started reading and was unable to put down. Reading this book, I could actually visualize everything that was going on. Forget JAWS, forget DEEP BLUE SEA, this is the ultimate DEEP SEA TERROR! You'll definately think twice about going into the deep after reading this book! I believe a movie is in the works, but don't quote me on that! Do a search for MEG MOVIE and it should provide some info! ENJOY!

Review: WOW, Meg was the greatest book I have ever read. Steve Alten used great description of the charactors and the setting. Alten researched of this book showed he put his full potential. I would recomend this book to every one.

Summary: Many books are published every year. This is one of them.
Review: Suffice it to say that this novel is really nothing special. But, in its defense, I must say that this wasn't the worst book that I've ever read (if you care to read a horrible shark novel, try Jaws by Peter Benchley - quite possibly the worst book ever written in my humble opinion... and it's up against some pretty stiff competition). This book did, indeed, hold my interest for a while - one of the better "shark novels" that have hit the bookshelves(though I have yet to read one that is particularly good). In the 'minus' column, however, the book suffered from an over-used plot (i.e. - shark comes, shark eats a lot of people, shark dies), a horribly-written prologue, boring characters, and a complete let-down of an ending. So why, you might ask, did I give it 3 stars instead of just 1? Well, I find it to be a guilty pleasure of mine to read about an evil creature devouring innoncent human beings... wouldn't you agree? Besides, it was obvious the poor man put quite a bit of effort into this thing; that certainly counts, doesn't it? But anyway, despite this being a really exaggerated tale(a 60-foot shark launches its entire body-length out of the water? Please.), I found the theories expressed here to be eerily believable. Which is perhaps why I enjoyed the book more than I should have. I believe the follow up to this one - The Trench - shows a lot of potential, and am eagar to check that one out, as well. But as for this being a 5-star piece of art, I'm just not sure I can agree with those dumb kids' reviews that you'll find below - they obviously haven't even picked up a good work of literature. Seriously, anyone who thinks this is a perfect book should have their head examined - if you want great science fiction, read anything by Michael Crichton (his latest novel, Timeline, is excellent, by the way) or Ray Bradbury. So, bottom line, if you're searching for a worthy piece of writing, save your money and look elsewhere. If, on the other hand, you're in the mood for a loads-of-fun-yet-laughably-cliched underwater adventure, this is the most defintely the ticket.

Review: Meg is so cool! It had everything. It kept me on the edge of my seat through the entire thing. I let all of my friends read it. They all feel the same way I do. I think it should be a movie. It would have everything action, an awsome climax, blood,suspence, and nudity.

Review: MEG by Steve Alten is one of my favorite books. I couldn't put it down! It is scientific enough to keep you interested but not too complicated to understand. This book has everything, suspense, action, technology, science, and humor among other things. I strongly recomend this book to everyone! Of course, I am only 15 years old, so if I liked it, I'm positive you will too!
