Summary: The length is worth it
Review: Sometimes the first 650 pages of the book can try your patience and makes you wonder why certain details and side plots are important. But it all comes together in the last 250 pages and that long climax would not be as good without all of the previous stuff.

Summary: This one really hits home!
Review: This book is just another example of how the author can put you right in the middle of the action. Only this time the action is here at home. After reading this one it is a little harder to sleep peacefully at night. As always, it is a pleasure watching Clark and Chavez work. Throw Jack Ryan in the mix and you've got one great book!

Summary: Excellent Work
Review: I really enjoyed this book. I thought the pacing was good and the characters well-developed. Some may complain that Clancy's attention to detail slows down the pace too much. But I enjoy those "slow" passages and technical details. They reflect the author's meticulous research and are part of what separates his novels from the usual boiler-plate thrillers.I thought it was an exciting novel, plausible, with some nice, vivid writing. One of his best works.

Summary: Ludicrous story, slow in the beginning, but good ending
Review: Arab terrorists stumble onto a nuclear warhead and try to useit to start World War III. The setup is long and can be boring andrepetitious at times, especially the bomb making exercise. But the setup is not nearly as tedious as that in Executive Orders. The whole plot is pretty ridiculous, but the climax is very exciting and there is a statisfying ending.

Summary: In a word: Amazing!
Review: I was delighted by the way Tom Clancy outlined the political situation for the Sum of All Fears, added to a amazingly clear explanation of the process of building a two-stages thermonuclear weapon and the consequences of it. Besides that, the character of Jack Ryan is described with all details and the same for the intrigues played among the Washington people. I strongly recommend it. You must not miss this one!

Summary: A Wonderfully Fitting End to Jack Ryan's Career
Review: I got tired of the nuclear physics details, but that was about all that was tiring about the end of the DDCI's career. Once again, Mr. Clancy has written a book that creates that willing suspension of disbelief that is so critical to enjoying a novel. Thank you Mr. Clancy, and I hope that Jack Ryan enjoys his retirement. It is well deserved.

Summary: An overall great book
Review: The Sum of all Fears is 914 pages long, and the first 600 or so are all character problems and a GIANT rising action. After this the story really heats up. The climax is phenominal and the ending is very good. The plot in the book is very good, and this is a MUST if you have the time to read the monster :)

Review: When an Isreali plane carrying a nuclear bomb is downed in Syria, the bomb survives the crash. When the US and NATO plan a religious treaty to end all the fighting in the Middle East, and a group of Muslim terorists find that nuclear bomb, the stage is set for disaster. The terrorists target, the Superbowl, with the Presdent in attendance. Good reading and pace. Nice book.

Summary: Excellent and Exciting Read!
Review: Clancy has hit it off again! With an incredible story line, the are things that has this book bounding! Unfortunately, Clancy hit it a little too hard with all the things about putting together an atomic bomb, and the intricate details on how it works, but when the stuff hit the fan, the story took off! It became impossible for me to put down! A definite read!
