Review: This is the best book that L'amour has ever written I have compared it to many other books such as the Jubal Sackett and the Haunted Mesa and this by far is one of the best books I have ever read.

Summary: Excellent adventure!
Review: This book is the best L'Amour I ever read. The descriptions of the tracker's skill in following the main character are accurate. The Indian character is a highly skilled outdoorsman whose ability to evade and conduct his own sort of guerrilla warfare against his pursuers makes this a book you won't be able to put down. One of the best books you'll ever read.

Review: I really like that book: the story is great and there is a lot of suspence. But this book needs a sequel because there is no end of the story in this book. L'amour creates a character outside of the common who can adapt himself anywhere, anytime with his experience. Major Joe Black is an Indian but he went to college. I recommend this book for all persons who like adventure and suspense.

Review: Having read nearly all of Louie L'Amour, I mark LAST OF THE BREED as one of my favorites. He steps out of his traditional "old west" setting and takes you on an incredible journey across Russia. This is one book I could not put down. L'Amour takes you there and makes you feel the adventure.

Review: I am an avid book reader, and have read many fiction books. I would have to say that this is one of, if not the best book I have ever read, in any catagory. I highly recommend it for anyone who has the time to sit and read it all in one setting. Because once you start it, that is exactly what you are going to want to do!

Summary: My favorite book - EVER!
Review: This book is the most compelling, engaging adventure I have ever read. Down to the last 100 pages, I both dreaded reaching the end and could not lay it down. When I reached the last page (the most delicious revenge) I IMMEDIATELY turned it over and began again. I have read this book, cover to cover, four times and have been thrilled each time. Get off-line and start it now! You'll thank me later.

Summary: Outstanding, one of the best books he's ever written.
Review: The story was outstanding. You cheered on the main character throughout the book. It gave you an education on how the Indians survived. It contained everything a book should, suspense,love of one's history, compassion, bravery, where there's a will there's a way. I know that if Mr. L'Amour stilled lived, there would be a sequel and since I finished the book, I kept waiting for the sequal. Like all of his books, it was outstanding. In my opinion, Mr. L'Amour was the greatest author of the 20th century.
