Summary: What a magnificant story!!
Review: Ken Follett truly captures the essence of what 19th century England was all about. He uses fantastic characters who will not disapoint and an incredible story to mold them into. This is Ken Follett at his best. There is no doubt in my mind that this ranks right there with his other bestsellers. You won't be able to put the book down even if you tried. Gives a startling clear picture on the world of banking in the 1800's. BUY THIS BOOK!

Summary: An engrossing tale of greed, intrigue and romance
Review: Ken Follett has scored again with "A Dangerous Fortune. Not as remarkable as previous books "Eye of the Needle" and "Pillars of the Earth", it is neverthless a terrific look at the greed and treachery of the matriarch of a turn-of-the-century English banking family. Though obviously well-researched and thoroughly interesting on an entertainment level, the story was predictable and full of too many larger-than-life characters. Great for vacation or bedside reading.

Summary: You can't stop the pages from turning . simply UNPUTDOWNABLE
Review: This is Ken Follett's best book by far. The pace is breathlessly fast. The characters are so live you can almost hear them speak. I never read a book twice however, I would reread this one any time. Ken Follett knows how to write a water-tight plot.

Summary: This is absolutely one of the best books I have ever read.
Review: Follett's characters come to life in this exceptional book. I read this book in 3 days, this is quite out of the ordinary, I am a VERY slow reader. I just couldn't put it down! I recommend this to anyone, especially avid Follett fans. I have also read "THe Man from St. Petersburg", "The Eye of the Needle", "Night Over Water", and "The Modigliani Scandal". I can safely say that this is the best of previously mentioned books, all excellant.

Summary: Excellent story, I highly recommend it !
Review: I cannot recommend this book highly enough. Follett is one of the best. If you like this book read his "Night Over Water" next. You will not be disappointed.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: A riveting story, but too flat
Review: I was swept up by this story, but didn't feel that it offered anything substantial. It was like watching a soap opera: the intrigue is in seeing the villianess receive her just desserts. Unfortunately there was not much else to the story. No great prose or description. No great lesson to learn. Entertainment, but not literature.

Summary: Great Job Ken!!!
Review: A dangerous fortune is one of the most realistic novels I read, and one of the best too. Although it is around 600 pages long, I enjoyed every single bit of it. Great job Ken. Hend.

Summary: Brilliant
Review: Like all books of Ken Follett, brilliant. The second I read and still impressed

Summary: One of my favorite books!
Review: I read this book years ago and still remember how much I enjoyed it. It has a terrific mystery story, and interesting and well-developed characters. I read this book during a ten-hour plane trip and the book was so riveting that I barely remember the flight itself. If you enjoyed this book I also recommend Ken Follett's "Pillars of the Earth". That was a fantastic story, too.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Accurately plotted, well written, entertaining!
Review: My first attempt at a Follett book. And not one I regretted. It was accurate in the way it was written and thoroughly enjoyable. Well done Mr. Follett!
