Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Weak & Disappointing Review: I am a Mosley fan and have read all of his previous books. This one was disappointing. While the main character, Paris was well developed, more could have been done with the others. The plot was weak, implausible and generally "hurky jerky". There were insufficient facts in the plot to demonstrate how Paris "figured out" the crime scenarios. In fact, as you approached the end of the book, I got the impression that Mosely was rushing to hit a publishers deadline. I am sure that this book will sell well, but it is weak. C'mon Walter, are you honestly satisfied with this effort? I am not someone who is opposed to new characters. I only want the quality that came with Easy, Mouse, and Fortlow.

Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Good, but not Mosley's Best Review: I enjoyed Fearless Jones. However, i searched the chapters for the connection i have found with Ezekiel, Mouse and others of the Easy Rawlin's series. I was not clear why I should "feel" for and with Paris Minton. The marquee "Fearless Jones" character was even less compelling. In fact, the book could have been written without Fearless all together if Paris was given a little more guts. Fearless was less "fearless" and more quirky in ways that really would supported by a lot of background depth. Mouse he ain't. Maybe "Quirky Jones and his Gutless Sidekick" can be the title of the sequel.

Review: I had the good fortune of borrowing the audio CD version of "Fearless Jones" from my local library. Mosley's story is excellent and captivating. The reader, William Andrew Quinn, has a lot to learn about imitating accents. He was great as Fearless and Paris, so-so as Elana Love and other female characters, and just awful as the Yiddish characters (which figure so prominently in the book). His Yiddish accent sounded like Irish brogue and oftentimes, when more than two characters were engaged in a dialogue, he tended to confuse all the accents. All in all though, this reading was engaging and I could hardly wait to find out how it all turned out. Mosley is a genius!

Fearless is harsh, fair, honest, cruel, trustworthy, and a true definition of a friend. Mosley does a wonderful job of reminding you that the characters are in same stomping ground of "Easy Rawlings" Some of the Easy Rawlings characters are mentioned. If you like a good story that is easy to follow and fund to read you will love "Fearless Jones"
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: One of Walter Mosley's Best Review: I just finished reading Walter Mosley's lastest novel, and I loved it. I absolutely hate it when an author writes a novel that is so formula based that I know what's coming before I even turn to the next page. Fortunately, Walter Mosley is not one of those authors. Once again, Mr. Mosley has proven to be one of the best mystery/detective solving authors out there. I found the introduction of the two new characters, Paris and Fearless to be engaging and fun from start to finish. I was truly a fan of Easy Rawlins, but with Paris and Fearless leading the way, I have to admit that I didn't miss dear Easy one bit. This mystery had more twist and turns then a little bit and kept me wondering "just what the heck was happening here". It was an enjoyable read and one that I would easily recommend to any serious reader and former Easy Rawlin fan.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Good but not great Review: I like Walter Mosley's writing; it's never mean-spirited, and it invariably provides a great sense of time and place. Fearless Jones is an entertaining book; Fearless and Paris are well-conceived characters as are all the secondary characters; the plot is dizzingly convoluted; it's well worth reading. It is not, however, an example of his best work; definitely not on the same level as the powerfully affecting Socrates Fortlow books. That said, aside from a few minor anachronisms (mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and the concept of community service were not practised in the1950s) I have no qualms about recommending this book.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Another Hit Review: I love Fearless Jones. I thought the plot was very well done. The characters in the book were very good. Especially Elaina Love who you love to hate. I can't wait for next FearlessJones Novel. I love Walter Mosley books.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Not my first choice Review: I love Mosley. I read everything the man has written. Sorry, I was disappointed. I should have reread one of Easy's stories. If you've never read Mosley this isn't a bad place to start. It is well written, but not up to Mosley's standard. So when you read another Mosley you'll be surprised at how much better it gets. If you've read Mosley you could skip this one.
