Summary: My first Iris Johansen, and I loved it!
Review: This was a very good book. I can see why Johansen is so famous now. This novel shines, with great characters, and the build up of these characters.

Though, there was a lot of dialouge, whether than the description, and thats what I liked about this book. She lets you know what the characters are feeling for other characters, and how they feel when somebody dies.

The plot of this book is great. The way the story plays out is a way of believeability.

After reading this book, I think I'll start on another Iris Johansen. This was an exciting read, and you probably could relate to the characters in everyday life.

Summary: A wonderful work of romantic suspense
Review: In Vasaro, France, Michael Travis aborts an attempt to kidnap Cassie, the daughter of the American President. Many men die while her nanny, a traitor, tries to hand Cassie over to the terrorists. Cassie goes into a catatonic state. The President has many doctors try to bring Cassie back but they all fail. President Andreas is forced to turn to Dr. Jessica Riley for help. Jessica once succeeded in pulling her own sister Melissa out of the same condition even though it took years to accomplish that feat.

Travis knows Europe is too hot for him to remain there so he maneuvers the President into giving him a ride back to the States to guard Cassie. While watching over Cassie, a psychic bond forms between Travis and Cassie. When

Travis returns to Europe, Jessica, Cassie, and Melissa accompany him. While there, Melissa obtains quite an education having to shoot someone and dodge the good and bad guys all the while falling in love with Travis.

Years ago, Iris Johansen wrote the "Wind Dancer" trilogy and that statue plays a prominent role in this book. FINAL TARGET is a thrilling romantic suspense novel that will have fans of the author ecstatic and bring Ms. Johansen new readers. A secondary player deserves his own story be told especially with the nastiness that he goes through in this exciting tale.

Summary: final target
Review: this is the final book i will read by this author. I wonder who wrote this? certianly not ms Johannsen. Silly plot with no explanation as to what kind of criminal activities one of the lead characters is into other than international stuff???. Lots of silly flouncing and postureing by another main person. no real plot that could be believed.

Summary: Good, but not one of her best.
Review: "Final Target" is a bit of a departure from Iris Johansen's other thrillers. While it is an interesting storyline, there were so many sub-plots that I often forgot about the crux of the story involving the president's daughter until the book came back around to her. The paranormal threads were intriguing albeit farfetched at times (especially at the end when the Dr. Dedrick revelation was thrown in). That said, "Final Target" is still an exciting story. I truly enjoyed the reappearance of Sean Galen and was pleased that he played a larger role in this story. (For those disappointed with "The Search," rest assured, there is no Logan connection in this story - just a fleeting mention of Galen's former baby-sitting days.) Bottom line - while it may not be one of her best thrillers to date, "Final Target" is, nevertheless, worth curling up with for the afternoon.

Summary: NOT AS GOOD AS HER PREVIOUS TWO!
Review: Well, I have to admit, I was a little disappointed with Iris Johansen's latest novel, "Final Target." Don't get me wrong, the book was good and worthwile to read, but I don't think it was as good as "The Search." and "The Killing Game." I thought that the plot was a little too slow at times and there was a moderate amount of storyline that had nothing to do with the main objective, such as the diamond part of the story. I liked the characters a lot although. Jessica and Melissa Riley were interesting characters to read about, so was Michael Travis. The exciting parts in this book, like the museum scene and the church scene were very fun and action-packed. If you want a good book to read, then buy "Final Target," although in my opinion, "The Search" was better.

Summary: Final Target
Review: I've always love Iris Johansen's writing. This book has actions and suspense! If you want to know if this book is for you, just read the prologue. Happy read!!!

Summary: Not quite what I expected
Review: I was rather disappointed with this latest by Iris Johansen. Her characters seemed flat and the romance felt more like an afterthought than an important addition to the story. We never get to know Micheal enough to develop an attachment, nor for that matter, do we ever get a real feel for any of the characters. The most interesting character in the entire book for me was Galen who was featured briefly, I think, in The Search. Overall it was a decent book but far below what I've read and come to expect from this author previously.

Summary: A WINNER
Review: Being the president's daughter carries certain risks, but nothing could have prepared young Cassie Andreas for the bloodshed she has to witness. An organized team of assassins ruthlessly murder her nanny, and the Secret Service agents on duty to protect her, leaving her in a catatonic state facing the fears locked in her mind.

Dr. Jessica Riley is a specialist with this type of severe trauma, as many years earlier she helped free her own sister Melissa from the darkness of her mind.

Melissa never thought she would have to relive the painful memories of her past, but a simple visit to her sister makes this horror a reality as she is pulled into the drama surrounding the president's daughter.

Risking their own lives to discover what lies at the heart of Cassie's nightmares, the sisters will team up with Michael Travis, the man who risked everything to save Cassie on that night of the massacre.

Michael will propose a dangerous plan, a plan that will put all their lives on the line. Because a game has been set forth, a deadly game with powerful players who will stop at nothing...even murder.

'Final Target' is a winner. A non-stop, roller coaster that grabs you and doesn't let go. Page after page the action and suspense intensify, while each piece of the puzzle falls carefully into place, leading to a stunning conclusion.

Iris Johansen has written an explosive thriller, that will please her huge legion of fans, and will undoubtly gain her new ones. As usual, Ms. Johansen keeps readers up all night with a page-turner that will be an instant bestseller.

A MUST read!

Summary: Pedestrian combination of thriller and romance.
Review: Iris Johansen's "Final Target" is an action-adventure novel which combines intrigue and murder with passionate romance. Cassie Andreas is the seven-year-old daughter of the President of the United States. She has been traumatized by a violent encounter and she now stays in her bed, mute and unresponsive.

Dr. Jessica Riley has been hired to help bring Cassie back. Jessica's sister, Melissa, was brought back from a catatonic state by her sister years ago. Melissa feels a connection to Cassie, and she also tries to help the little girl.

The plot thickens as Michael Travis, hunky adventurer, smuggler, and thief, enters their lives. He had saved Cassie's life during the aforementioned traumatic episode and he, too, gets involved in helping to revive the girl.

To further complicate matters, Michael is involved in several illegal and dangerous schemes. His arch-enemy, Edward Deschamps, is out to kill him and to obtain a beautiful statue, "Wind Dancer," that is prized by the Andreas family. In addition, it turns out that several of the characters in the book have psychic powers that enable them to sense impending danger and even to communicate with one another telepathically.

Johansen does not bother too much with such niceties as character development and descriptive prose. The novel consists mostly of dialogue accompanied by a far-fetched plot. Although "Final Target" is little more than a fairy tale, it is fast-moving, and it may please lovers of escapist fare.

Summary: Convoluted tale that wasn't overly believable
Review: Heard the taped version of Iris Johnansen's FINAL TARGET,
a somewhat convoluted tale about a kidnapped girl who just
happens to be the daughter of the President of the United
States . . . I just didn't find it believable, nor did I care for any
of the main characters . . . only the ending, which involved
a love story of sorts, managed to pique my interest . . . I also
found Carolyn McCormick's narration excellent; in fact, much
better than the book.
