Rating: Summary: i know alot of black girls lost... Review: i could feel the intensity of these characters. i wished them the best but inside i knew that their love was so pure and came from such a real place that it was doomed not to last. i was glad that sandra found someone to love her and glad that someone was able to see inside of chink to find that he actually had a really good heart. the way he thought of sandra was so endearing and at complete contrast to what was expected of his character. for this to have been written in the 70s i sure could have changed a few scenarios and it would have been just the same to say this happened just yesterday. in reference to her calling him daddy, which was kind of corny at times but come on dude, this is the 70s. all the 'cats' talked 'jive' like that. same thing happens in iceberg slim books. overall this is a great hood drama with characters that move. read and loan to a friend, i know i did

Rating: Summary: Couldn't read just one! Review: I have read all of his books except for one. Black girl lost was the first book I read. I was at a friends house relaxing while she cooked, and I picked up the book and I couldn't put it down. I read the entire book that evening at her house. The story was so heartfelt and I found myself totally engrossed with both of the main characters. Once you've read one book, you'll crave more.
Rating: Summary: Totally Real Review: I just want to say that the art of reading is a wonderful gift that people should cherish, both black and white. I had not read a good book, a real book in a long time until I read Black Girl lost. I used to be a very avid reader but I had an extremely hard time finding a book that could quench my thirst, but as a young Black woman who coincidentally emerged from the "Ghetto" I could relate to the very core of the struggle that these young adults endured. "Black girl Lost was REAL I mean it would even interest other races for the simple fact that if you never saw the struggle (not to say that we were the only race to struggle but every people struggle in their own particular way)But if you have never experienced a particular struggle especially as vividly as Sandra then her story would totally grab you just because you might be a nosey person at heart and you might feel like your watching in on someone else's affairs and although it's heart wrenching it is very very real not only in the eyes of the victims but in the eyes of the observer who stands on the outside looking in and it hurts you as if these people were your own flesh and blood no matter the color.
Rating: Summary: THIS BOOK IN MY OPINION WAS VERY INTRIGUING AND REAL Review: I LIKE THIS BOOK BECAUSE IT KEPT MY ATTENTION ALL DAY. ANY BOOK THAT CAN KEEP MY ATTENTION IN MY OPINION IS ALL THAT. AS I READ THE BOOK I FELT THAT I WAS ENTERING INTO ANOTHER WORLD, AND I FELT THAT I WAS THERE WITH SANDRA AND CHINK. THEY WERE THE TRUE DEFINITION OF GHETTO LOVE.RASHEEDA HERNANDEZ END
Rating: Summary: Once you pick it up, you don't want to put it down. Review: I LOVE HIS WRITING. This is my favorite of all his books. I've read them all except for two. It's so easy to see and understand why there are so many teen pregnancies and so much violence now a days. It's not an excuse, but I understand. Once you pick it up, you don't want to put it down.
