Summary: Another winner from Hunter
Review: Don't miss this one. If you've never read Hunter before, read Point of Impact then Black Light and then Time to Hunt, the Bob the Nailer books. Bob is one of my favorite all time fiction heroes, right up there with Clancy's Jack Ryan and John Clark and Frederick Forsyth's Sir Nigel Aubrey. This book doesn't disappoint. Full of action, character development and spirited dialog. PLEASE Mr Hunter, don't consider this the last Bob the Nailer book - we want more! P.S. you'll enjoy Hunter's other (not Bob the Nailer) books, too.

Summary: I almost quite reading before I got to the better parts.
Review: This book is a slow starter and its beginning is a lot to swallow. It gets more interesting and much more believeable once we arrive back in Nam but the whole thing was a little too contrived. This is one to many "Bob the Nailer" books.

Summary: A hard to put down thriller.
Review: This is the first book by Hunter I have read. I found this to be an intelligent thriller that was hard to put down. You find yourself pulling for swagger throughout the book. I will make it a point to read more of his works.

Summary: Clancey, Cussler Make Room there's a new pen in town.
Review: This was my first Steve Hunter book and all I can say is; WOW! I have read all of Clancy And Cussler and now I have another Author to keep me going. The character "Bob the nailer" is so real you feel like you know him.You hate it when the book ends.

Summary: A must for gun lovers & hunters
Review: I still think "Point of Impact" is Hunter's best, but this book was certainly close. Hunter's detail to "the shot", what with the wind, distance and temperature tells us know-it-all's that we really don't.

Summary: Slow start, picks up pace, a bit much at the end.
Review: Overall a good action novel. I also recommend Bob Mayer's DRAGON SIM-13 or CUT OUT is you like this type of book. More of a been-there, done-it type of author, Mayer keeps the action going non-stop.

Summary: Hunter High
Review: Having four hours and a late red-eye to Vegas, along with two chagrined adjacent passengers, Stephen Hunter's latest is a page turner. Not only does he continue to expand the anthology, but he pulls in my other favorite reread of his, Day before Midnight. Yeah, its thin in spots, but it brings together past of Gunny Sgt Bob Swagger with his legend. We forget Viet Nam War went on both shores and both are forever intertwined. I wonder where the author goes next, but I'll be reading it.

Summary: very authentic .......at times.
Review: Having had a little experience with Claymores, I would like someone to explain how standing behind a Claymore can shield one from the detonation.....And,,,,,how did all those guys get trained to stand directly in a semicircle in front of the mine in an empy warehouse........I guess it was time for a bang up finish......Upto that time it went well, and read well. Not too offensive and a little authentic.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Good balance of suspense and not being lost
Review: I really enjoyed Hunter's storytelling in this novel. I wasn't prepared for the long historical setup for the book, but after a while I realized that the intro was a pretty good book all on its own. It has been a while since I've read an enjoyable book - I was begining to wonder.

Thanks to Stephen.

Summary: When can we expect more...
Review: From the first book I read of Hunter's, I have been an enduring fan. I only ask when is the next one coming out. "Time to Hunt" was an excellent addition to the Bob "The Nailer" series. I just wish his wife was a little more understanding and let Bob do what he does best, Nail the bad guys. She needs to get off his back.

I thought the part where Bob and Donny go in and save a whole platoon of Marines was fantastic. This is what I enjoy about Hunter, he allows you to just dive in and actually become part of the story. I felt like I was next to Bob and Donny out there in the mud in the "Land of Bad Things".
