Rating: Summary: Hunter is a Master Review: This is the first Stephen Hunter book I read, it was simpliy awesome. Time to Hunt kept me quessing until the last page. I look forward to continue reading Hunters books!
Rating: Summary: Great read, Review: I became acquainted with Bob Swagger in Point of Origin, I only wish he wasn't 50 ish because I would like to have a few more stories. Dirk Pitt of Clive Cussler is getting on in years. This is fiction. Bob Swagger should be able to go on indefinately. Sad to say he won't. Suffice to say I'm glad Mr. Swagger came along when he did because I needed a good book. Some say Point of Impact was he best. I tend to disagree. A Time to Hunt was the best if you read the triology. Point of Impact, Dirty White Boys and Black Light. Then A Time to Hunt wrapped it all up.
Rating: Summary: The most emotionally jarring book I have ever read. Review: Bob Lee Swagger has fought wars before. But now he fights to save his family, and to find the truth to a mystery that has follwed him from the grusome battle field of Vietnam. Stephen Hunter is an incredible writer. He goes for the soul and shakes your very being. If this book makes you angry at the senlessness of war, and the sacrafice of so many lives then Stephen Hunter has done his job. Pick this book immediatly and read it. Now!
Rating: Summary: Believe that there are still some great writers out there Review: After reading the previous books about Bob Lee Swagger, I feel that I know the guy. Never have I understood a character as much as I do now. I loved it.
Rating: Summary: teeth grinding action and plot, AWSOME!! Review: Thankyou Stephen Hunter for another great book! Point of Impact is still my favorite, however i enjoyed this book so much. Mr.Hunter i know of a few authors out there that need to take lessons from you on the art of writing action. I read alot of books, but have not encountered action writing skills like you possess. Please keep up the good work.
Rating: Summary: An absolutely fantastic thriller Review: A book that can never be put down. One which keeps you turning page after page - a real heartstopper.I didn't want to read this book until my boss said he saw President Clinton reading it. If you're interested in Vietnam and snipers - this is definitely a book for you to read.
Rating: Summary: Excellent, adventure, mystery novel with a touch of evrythng Review: Time To Hunt is an extraordinary novel. It touches on all almost every aspect including adventure, mystery and love. Hunter is trully a master and he easily excites the reader throughout. There is not a dead moment throughout the 600 pages. The length is well worth it. The book is filed with action, adventure and suspense up until the very last page. It is trully a compelling book that should be recommended to all. Hunter's style and technique displays visions of a master.
Rating: Summary: This book launched Stephen Hunter up to my favorite author Review: I have read Point of Impact, Black Light and now Time to Hunt. This book was fabulous! I really enjoy the way Mr. Hunter entwines the characters from all these books to make a story that never stops twisting and turning! The detail of the snipers world and his heroic characters pull you in and never let you go until the book is done. I agree with others who feel this is his best book, although that may be because I read all three in a row with no let up, so actually I probably am feeling the rush of the entire trilogy. I just ordered Dirty White Boys to finish off the Bob Lee Swagger saga. I can hardly wait; I love Mr. Hunter's style!
Rating: Summary: Impressed Review: Impressed-- that's all I can say. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of Hunter's books: although a couple of the earlier ones were a little weak on the plot. But Mr. Hunter has improved with each new endeavor. His latest, "Time To Hunt", proves to be his best by far. Great character studies and his most complex plot to date. Keep them coming Stephen, and thanks for many fevered hours of paper-turning.
Rating: Summary: Great read! Brings Closure for all us Swagger fans Review: Time to Hunt is a very engaging story and also puts a great end to the Swagger saga.Point of Impact is one of my all-time favorites. Now we need another deep character from Hunter with the same country-bred hard edge sense of values imparted on Bob Lee and Bud Pewtie. One that "deals in lead friend"
