Summary: One of DeMille's best
Review: When an author subjects us to a book of about seven hundred pages, it had better be good.....and this one is. This is his best book in a long time. The suspense is omnipresent and the wisecracking one liners of John Corey, the main protagonist are highly entertaining. All of the attributes of this book come together smoothly. The characterizations, the research, the romance and the terror. A real triumph for the author.

Summary: DeMille drifted too much for me...
Review: While I love the plot and devoured the book, some of the repetition took away from the compelling pace. This was one case where the action after the mountain was all up hill!

Summary: A DeMille Letdown
Review: DeMille's weakest book, slow moving at times and the ending is horrible(I won't reveal the ending because there isn't one). I couldn't shake the feeling that DeMille was writing for the movies rather than just letting his prodigious talent flow. First-time DeMille readers would be wise to start with The Gold Coast or Word of Honor, two absolute gems that demonstrate what DeMille is capable of writing.

Summary: DeMille strikes gold again
Review: DeMille has written another masterpiece, holding you hostage until you reach the end. If you're a DeMille fan, you won't be disappointed and the wise-cracking John Corey will make you literally laugh out loud. The plot takes some fantastic twists and turns, with the only letdown being at the very end, where it seems to be a setup for John Corey to return one more time. An absolute must for DeMille fans, or a great book to start on if you are new to him. Don't wait for the paperback, this one begs to be read now!

Summary: Unforgettable
Review: "You'd think that anyone who'd been shot three times and almost became an organ donor would try to avoid dangerous situations in the future," John Corey thought.

To Corey, a retired NYPD detective and Special Contact Agent for the Federal Anti-Terrorist Task Force, picking up a Libyan ex-terrorist defecting to the West seems like a low risk assignment.

Then, at JFK's international terminal he learns that something has gone terribly wrong aboard the giant 747. The police find a planeload of corpses, and the handcuffed terrorist, Asad Khalil, has disappeared.

Khalil, The Lion, plans to kill the American pilots responsible for the death of his family in the 1986 bombing of Libya. The trail of blood stretches from New York to California, as he works his way toward the home of the former president Khalil holds personally responsible for the death of his family.

Corey's streetwise smarts and brash style sometimes rub his FBI and CIA partners the wrong way, and he comes close to being fired from the case. But it's Corey and his fellow agent and fiancée, Kate Mayfield, who eventually stop the psychopathic killer.

Fans of Nelson DeMille will find it hard to resist this accomplished storyteller's newest tale. The Lion's Game gives readers what seems to be a realistic glimpse of how law enforcement agencies cooperate to track down international terrorists. It is a breathtaking and believable story, one that I could hardly put down until I finished reading.

Summary: DEVOUR THIS ONE
Review: I couldn't wait to get his one and read it after reading and hearing so many good things. Well, I was not disappointed at all and breezed thru this tome at a break-neck pace. The plot was wonderful and John Corey had me in stitches with his witty, overtly male comments. Asad Khalil was an excellent ying to Johns' yang, serving up cold revenge in his own diabolical way. I have read many DeMille novels and have NEVER been disappointed. Deal yourself into the game and grab this one for sure. You will be glad you did!

Summary: The Lion's Game
Review: Very enjoyable...and I like John Corey..would love to have someone like him in my life..I especially enjoyed pages 360-361 descriptions of deciding whether to go with Kate or not...read that to several of my men friends..Not his best book..but enjoyable and I like the character John..Looking forward to the next one.

Summary: Another great DeMille
Review: Unlike many others, I am happy that DeMille did not have the typical "let's wrap everything up so the reader feels content" ending. The ending makes you think. I must admit though, I hope he wasn't just setting up a sequel, but he claims he is not doing another John Corey book. However, the book did not make me think about conspiracies as much as Charm School, which is the best espionage book and the best DeMille I have ever read.

Summary: Great Story.....But
Review: The Lion's Game is a page turner. And you'll read it well into the night. The characters are great and I like having John Corey (from Plum Island). The Lion's Game is a big book, over 650 pages. But I could've read more. Unfortunately the ending is not as exciting as the rest of the story. I see a possible sequel in the works. Aside from the ending, DeMille does deliver the goods and you won't be disappointed.

Summary: Demill's Lion Roars
Review: You don't have to be a mystery fan to enjoy a Demille book. Often I found myself laughing out loud at Demille's lead character's wisecracking jokes. If your offended at the politically incorrect, avoid this one, if you love comedy combined with mystery, Demille's books are pure joy. When your finished reading this novel, the book will serve as a very capable door stop as its a big book, over 700 pages long. This makes Demille the most economical writer of any of best sellers when you divide the number of pages by the book's price.
