Summary: Too Movie Made
Review: I felt the book was worth the read, but it was a lot more specific in the details given like the name of the vehicles used. I did like it and it did have good action, but, agian it was made for a sequal and it was obvius by the way it was written

Summary: A far cry from Jurassic Park.
Review: Micheal has cramped to much theories and philosophies in this book. Instead of being adventurous, The Lost World is being very philosophical. Almost every few pages of actions were followed by another few pages of theories of dinosaurs extinction. I managed to finish this book because I don't want to waste the money I spent on the book.

Summary: Enjoyable, but forgetable
Review: This book follows very closely the format of its predecessor Jurassic Park. There are genetically engineered dinosaurs on a remote island, computer whiz children, and for some reason a mathematition. This is a framework for Michael Crichton to express his opinions on what dinosaurs were like and why they went extinct. I want to clarify a bit by saying that I didn't dislike this book, I simply felt that it's direction wasn't necessarily the right one. The characters were mostly flat, with the exception of Ian Malcolm who was humanized substantially compared with his treatment in Jurassic Park. On the whole it was an enjoyable, but forgetable reading experience.

Summary: An interesting, must-read for any Jurassic Park fan
Review: This book is an interesting take-off on JP. At the beginning it does get a little like a detective book, but doesn't bore the thrill-seekers. The Lost World features most of the same dinos, but it shows more mothering, and in contrast to JP the raptors are shown as a bunch of dumb, killing machines. It also has an evolutionary discussion, which brings up many intersting theories to the killing off of dinosaurs. This book is gripping, an edge-of-your seat thriller. And, definetly worth the $7. Get IT!

Summary: LW is an action packed, sci-fi, roller coaster of adventure!
Review: You are taken back to a lost world a world of Dinosaurs on an island near Costa Rica (Isla Sorna not Isla Nublar as in JP) where dinosaurs roam freely unrestricted by any fences, there's raptors, there's rex's' there's compy's and even something a little weirder lurking within the pages. But in the end you know you 'll make your ride home or do you??

Summary: A continuation of Jurassic Park that goes nowhere.
Review: Guess what--the dinosaurs were NOT bred and raised at Jurassic Park; that was done on another island, that somehow everyone has forgotten about. Crichton gives tantalizing hints of dinosaur sightings in the jungles of Costa Rica, but then he does not tell us that story. Instead he gives us a pointless man against nature yarn involving two groups of overnight campers at the "Lost World." One group is a bunch of scientists (accompanied by some stowaway kids), the other is Crichton's usual villains: the unscrupulous corporate big shot and his honchos. Both groups pester the animals, who were minding their own business. Nobody accomplishes anything except either getting eaten or surviving and getting off the island. All through the story I kept wondering what was happening in the Costa Rican jungles, and did the government of Costa Rica know about it? That is where the real story would be--in the inner circles of government. I have usually admired Crichton's work; but I wish that the next sequel would be written by Clive Cussler. I would love to see Dirk Pitt sent in to sort things out, and perhaps decide whether the islands should be nuked or not.

Summary: Exhilirating novel follow-up to Jurrasic Park
Review: A rarity in cinema and literature: a sequel that leaves its predecessor in the dust. "The Lost World" by Michael Crichton is twice as exciting as the original, full of action and suspense of the highest grade. It easily is one of Crichton's best works to date. With a good plot and thought provoking twists, it keeps the reader on his/her toes until the final page.

Summary: The Lost World is the best book I have ever read.
Review: I think that The Lost World was the best of his books, better than the other book because it brings out the adventure in the book about the dinosaurs that made it through the crash in the first jp novel and I think that you should get your copy as soon as you can.

Summary: The Lost World is a great ride.
Review: The Lost World is one of those book sequels that is actually good, not a boring rehash, telling you endlessly what happened to all of the original book's characters. My favorite character (who I really believe is just a disguise for Crichton himself) was Ian Malcolm, so I was glad to see his presence in the sequel. This time around, rich-kid scientist Dr. Richard Levine disappears in an island and Malcolm and an assorted cast (including the best new character Eddie Carr) go out and find him. Of course, a dino mess ensues, killing only a handful (including Eddie!!!). By the way, write to Universal and tell David Koepp the screen writer to reconsider the fate of Eddie

Summary: A gripping sci-fi thriller that falls a tad short of JP.
Review: An excellent book that will glue you to the edge of your seat. The way he throws science into the mix, and makes it blend is a trademark of his that is present in this book too. The plot is a bit similar to that of the original, but here you got to find the answers to all the unanswered questions of the original. Still the kids should go away. Overall an excellent book by Michael Crichton. Can't wait for his next novel
