Summary: Not up to PAR of other work...
Review: It was a good read, but nothing new from JP. I was interested in more imaginative science and less man attacks beast, beast attacks man. The concept of the JP series is very creative and plausible, but so much more could be done with it

Summary: CRICHTON FINDS HIS WAY IN THE LOST WORLD
Review: I HAD TO WAIT FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS TO GET HOLD OF THIS BOOK, AND I JUSTLY SAY THAT THE WAIT WAS WELL WORTH IT. WE DON'T GET BEST SELLERS IN MAURITIUS AS READILY AS ELSEWHERE, AND I ASKED A COUSIN OF MINE TO BUY FROM ...INDIA... IT TOOK HER ABOUT 6 HOURS TO FIND THE RIGHT BOOKSTORE. APPARENTLY, IT HAD SOLD OUT IN THE PREVIOUS 6 SHE HAD VISITED, AND SHE GOT LUCKY ON THE 7TH ATTEMPT. NOW ABOUT THE BOOK. IT IS SIMILAR YET VERY DIFFERENT TO JURASSIC PARK, AND I LIKED IT EVEN MORE. I GREATLY APPRECIATED THE ROLE OF DODGSON, AND HIS REAL MOTIVES AS WELL AS HIS DESPERATION AS ILLUSTRATED IN JP. WHAT DID PUZZLE ME THOUGH WAS THE IAN MALCOM CHARACTER. I ALWAYS GOT THE IMPRESSION THAT HE WAS SOMEONE WHO WOULD ALWAYS SPEAK HIS MIND, IRRESPECTIVE OF THE CONSEQUENCES. HIS RETICENCE AT THE START OF THE LOST WORLD IS A BIT OUT OF CHARACTER ON HIS PART. AS FOR THE DINOSAURS, I WAS AWAITING A CONFRONTATION BETWEEN A TREX AND A TRICERATOPS. FOR ME THATS THE ULTIMATE HEAVYWEIGHT CONTEST, FORGET ALI/FRAZIER, OR TYSON/HOLYFIELD; THIS WAS THE MOTHER OF ALL FIGHTS. WELL, IT MIGHT COME AROUND IN THE SPIN OFF (NOT THE SEQUEL..), 'ROCKY 6, 'T REX vs TRICERATOPS' refereed by Sly Stallone. NOW THAT WOULD BE SOMETHING. (THIS IS FOR THE PAPERBACK EDITION

Summary: Not bad, but not amazing
Review: Although this is similar to Jurassic Park, it is not just a copy. Crichton is probably at his worst here (which is still some peoples best), but that doesn't stop the reader from going all of the way to the end. The biggest problem is the lack of plot. If you thought that Jurassic Park was dense, just read this. When I was finished and somebody asked me to tell them what it was like, I just couldn't find the words. The movie will be a smash hit, though

Summary: Horrid book, worst of the worst!
Review: An all time low for the author. A simple book for simple minds. This is the main difference between Lost World and Jurassic Park. Just watch the movie

Summary: I Hope The Movie Is Better
Review: I enjoy Michael Crichton books. I have read almost all of them. The Lost World is not a bad novel. It just is not Jurrassic Park. The book was obviously written as a film sequel. For one Ian dies in the original but he has been put back together for this novel. The explanation is poor. The T-Rex's now attack even if you don't move and the raptors are of superior intelligence compared to the ones in the original novel. It's a shame as parts of the book is quite exciting. I hope the movie is better

Summary: LOST WORLD is a smashing success! Don't miss it!
Review: I know you think this will be just like Jurassic Park, but it's not. LOST WORLD takes place on a different island, and has one character that was in the first book, Ian Malcolm. The book will absolutely knock you out of your seat! A surprisingly good sequel to its bestseller Jurassic Park

Summary: Fun read, dosen't live up to the pre-quel.
Review: Dosen't live up to the first novel. Only good for a fun read. Nice little story, not much to think about.

Summary: A VERY cool book!!!!!
Review: I think that the lost world is one of Micheal Crichtons best books yet. It is similar in plot to Jurassic Park but what kind of idiot didn't like Jurassic Park? Please send me your Questions or comments. Fredrik Sanche

Summary: The Lost World: Evolutionary Sequel
Review: The Lost World really is a winner, it helps clarify Jurassic Park and expand on some new characters. I wish there was more action in the abandoned genetic facility and the kids are carbon copies from the first book, too unrealistic. I also wish that the book was a little longer. I enjoy the great detail of the scenery and settings in the book. The theories of evolution are very interesting to think about, I like theories and facts that I may not know in a book. The book of Jurassic Park is far better than the movie and a bit better than The Lost World, I am anxious to see how the movie version of The Lost World will turn out. I recommend that if you decide to read this book that you have read the first book and have seen the movie Jurassic Park. Look out for the movie version of Sphere another great book by Michael Chrichton

Summary: The worst book Michael Crichton has written...
Review: Really, how can so many people actually be writing favourable reviews about this book? In general I would call myself a Michael Crichton fan, but this is such a clone of Jurassic Park that I could hardly believe he had written it. This should have stayed as the script for another trashy sequel..
