Rating: Summary: Didn't get past first tape Review: I stopped listening to this book after I discovered that Ian was brought back to life. As if all the movie changes for JP weren't enough, the book sequel had to bring dead characters back to life. This bugged me so much I had to stop
Rating: Summary: Badly Written Movie Script!!! Review: I am an avid fan of Michael Crichton, however, I find it hard to believe that he actually wrote this piece of Hollywood trash. Written as a sequel to Jurassic Park it not only failed to follow the logical next step from that book, it brings up a scenario that was not even hinted at in the original work. I found the plot shallow and character development non-existent. This novel lacked the excitement and wonder of Jurassic Park, but no doubt it will translate well on the "Big Screen". Too bad I was reading it in a "little" book!!
Rating: Summary: The book was a mastermind, great followup of Jurassic Park. Review: The book kept you turning every page, and was a lot more sophisticated than Jurassic Park, a great sequel. I kept waiting for Tyrannasaurus Rex to step on me every time I walked outside afterward
Rating: Summary: An extremely well-written, must read!! Review: I found Michael Crichton's book "The Lost World" to be a tittilating glimpse into what society would be like if we were all driven to mere insanity in the course of a wild goose chase for something that our soul longs to find, only to end up with somthing less than you expected. I think that you can honestly compare the island to Nazi Germany. In the same context of both stories, we find a desperate search by a madman for something he needs, only to be disappointed by the unfathomable greatness of it all. Melody Lambert
Rating: Summary: "The Lost World is a smashing success." Review: This book gets you hooked on from the start to the finish. You'll never want to put it down once you have started. Michael Chrichton does a fantastic job of packing this book with non-stop action. The settings of this book are the same as Jurrasic Park. Even the characters are almost similar. This book might sound like "boring" but once you started you will not put it down! I can't wait till the movie comes out
Rating: Summary: Great book once I started I could not put it down. Review: This book was great it is one of the few sequals I have had the privlage of reading that did just to the previous story Jurassicpark. It kept me reading and was filled with exitement. This was one of Crichtons best ever. I recomend it to anyone who has any apreciation for good literture and excitement
Rating: Summary: Wonderful sequel to Jurassic Park Review: a great novel for anyone who liked Jurassic Park. I can't wait for the movie to come out so I can watch it at the theate
Rating: Summary: disappointing sequel to an amazing book Review: As I was reading this book I wondered if this book was actually written by Crichton. The plot was almost a carbon copy of Jurassic Park except that it was much simpler. The driving force behind the popularity of Crichton's books is their originality. This demonstrates that Crichton can only write about a topic once before he is simply rewriting. He should avoid sequels and stick to writing good books about new topics
Rating: Summary: "If you loved Jurassic park, you'll enjoy "The Lost World." Review: Six years ago Jurassic Park was once a dream come true. It wasonce discovered, and then destroyed by vicious creatures, thedinosaurs. Lately, there has been mysterious findings of creatures on certain islands. Some people are starting to beleive that some of the dinosaurs actually survived. This thrilling book is made for anyone seeking excitement, and everyone should read this book!!
Rating: Summary: A replacement novel Review: It was entertaining but please I felt like I was reading the same book ( except alot worse ) all over again. Half the book just talked about evolution I had to skip pages and pages of evolution to get to the good parts. But the good parts were also repeats. The Characters were the same. Nobody can write as well as Crichton did with Jurassic Park
but he could have done better. If you really liked Jurassic Park and want to read it again try this out. for the rest of you find something else to rea
