Summary: Jurassic Park?
Review: I have heard many of you saying how the book is better than the movie. Wrong! At least the movie has more continuity with the prequel than the book does! Malcom DIED in the first book. He is some how alive in this one. It seemed Michael Crichton sold out on this one for those who had seen the first movie and not read the first book.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Not a true sequel!
Review: I read Jurrasic Park and loved it, I joyfully purchased the sequel The Lost World because I wanted to know the outcome of the migration of the Raptors. I felt cheated! The author didn't give the reader any credit for having read the prequel. I enjoyed the story despite the incongruities between this book and the prequel.

Summary: Fantastic
Review: This book was great. It's to bad the movie was so horrible. I don't know why Speilberg didn't follow the book or characters. The book was so good. With great characters, more dinosaurs and lots of adveture this is definately worth a read.

Summary: Sequel a flop
Review: I am extremelly disappointed with this book. It seems as though this book was a bit of a "sell-out." After all, using virtually the same plot simply because the first one sold so well makes me look at this writer with a little less respect. This was a very bad job, and it goes a ways towards why book sequels are so risky.

Summary: Action Packed
Review: I think that this book was maybe one of the best of the Crition books. It was filled with adventure and supence. I also was amazyed by how Crition de- cribed how the people got eaten (espelly Dogson). I thought the movie would be something like it too. But I was wrong. Tho, there were a few points they squesed into there.

Summary: Crichton makes a good book, but the first is better
Review: Ok, i read Jurassic Park when i was 13 (it was perfect, very gory and violent)but ended up w/ an outstanding plot. Then I waited for the sequel, and as usual the sequel is never better than the original. I don't know why either. The Lost World has an equal script to Jurassic Park and far better characters, but it didn't live up to the first book (i'm not going to mention the movie). It seems as though the initial shock and awe is over when the sequel finally comes out. Back to the book though, it is a good book but not as good as some of his other ones (ex. Sphere, Congo, The Adromeda Strain, and Jurassic Park), and in my eyes everything that Michael writes is worth reading 3 or 4 times. The plot has the usual action, adventure, and suspense, and great detail that he always puts in. Well, this is my opinion on The Lost World.

Summary: A good book, but can't beat it's predecessor.
Review: The first book was amazing. It added realistic science and adventure to make it great. The Lost World was good but different from the original. It added the adventure but didn't really add the interesting science to the background. It was basically the remake of the original "Lost World" book with the Jurassic Park background. The book wasn't bad at all and I would read it again and have my children read it when I grow up.

Summary: A much needed sequel
Review: The reason for four stars as compared to five is that no sequel can ever surpass their origional. This is an excelent novel and should be read after the first and before viewing the film. The first book captured the reader to an extent at which, even though the novel reached a resolution the reader wanted more to happen. Michael Crichton almost always leaves his pieces open for second part, he usually chooses not to act on it due to the overwhelming success of the film. In this case his first book did as well as the film, yet the viewers yearned for one more thrill before they put it to bed.

Summary: ONE OF THE BEST TO DATE!
Review: I first read Jurassic Park when I was in 3rd grade [I am now in 7th]. Since then I have read Jurassic Park and The Lost World four times each!

The Lost World is just as good if not better than its prequel. I have been long since debating about the two and which I liked better*. The Lost World is filled with action and suspence. It is nothing like the movie except the names of a FEW people [I am not exaggerating]! Anyways, this book is one of the best books I have ever read! READ IT!

* then I read Sphere and determined that it was better and JP and the LW got to share second place.

Summary: What happened?
Review: Typical of most books, this one was definately better than the movie, but it wasn't nearly the quality of Jurassic Park. Still very entertaining, but not top level Crichton work. I was expecting a little more, but I'm not sure what.
