Summary: Thw worst book I have ever read
Review: Michael Crichton is not an author. He is a script writer for Hollywood. Not only was this book--or better yet a manuscript--written to be made into a movie but it was also a horrible piece of trash (The movie was even more idiotic). The story had no ambition behind it and it proves that Crichton never was a good author and he never will be as long as he writes books for Hollywood instead of readers.

Summary: Another job well done!
Review: A great book, but I like the first one better. Overall, I like the movie better too. One of the reasons is because the movie had a lot more people on the island than the book. Also, I loved it when the T-Rex was brought to the city at the end of the movie. But that didn't happened in the book. But the book was well written with a different story line than the movie. I believe that the survival of Ian Malcolm is acceptable. I don't see why poeple are complaining about that. At the end of Jurassic Park, a report just stated that he and Hammond died. The book did not have any scenes of Malcolm dying. It was a mistake in the report, and I can buy that. I am sure it has happened to people in real life. Anyways, read the book. It is great.

Summary: SUPERB BOOK!
Review: This is what all sequels should be!Suspense,horror,science...!The list goes on!His theories are spectacular with real basis. It's got great insigths on the Park, things that happened before the first novel,he manages(MC)to tell them in such an interesting way!One thing. Some reviewers have said that bringing characters back from death is an insult to readers.WHAT CHARACHTERS HE'S BROUGHT BACK?!The novel firmly states that Malcolm had just been REPORTED dead by news broadcasts,he wasn't dead. This just shows the little effort these "readers" put into understanding, going deep, into Micheal Chricton's greatest books.

Summary: Grrrrrowl!
Review: This is a great book. I read it during my sophomore year in high school for a biology credit. I read all day for four days while we were traveling around Wyoming(dinosaur country). I really enjoyed it, and I'm one of those people who don't like reading.

Summary: The greatest sequel from the greatest suspense author!
Review: The Lost World was an incredibly fast-paced suspense novel! What I don't understand is how some people can call this book boring! Hello, are you on crack? The only reason it would be boring is if you were too much of an illiterate moron to understand the complicated plot! It took me three times to fully grasp Malcom's Chaos Theory but once I did, WOW! And Crichton clearly explained how Malcom "came back from the dead". His whole "death" was a cover-up by the Costa Rican government! He never died! Obviously they forgot to read that page (or chapter). I don't know how Crichton did it, but he turned The Lost World into an even better novel than Jurasic Park! I definately recommend this book for anyone with an I.Q. of 25 or more!

Summary: Fantastic, Gripping, Michael ' s The Boss here no doubt.
Review: My brother got this book and I found the gripping as a word of review from the Sunday Times. I started on to find a little slow paced but eventually I discovered that the sucessor to the Jurassic Park was one of the most gripping book I had ever read. This is my first book written by Michael Crichton and I found that even though the subject is so unknown to people he writes with so alarming conviction that one really starts believing that a Lost World is still there. I took the book and kept only when it was over. I recommend it for World Class reading. He has indulged me to read more thrillers. I am certainly one more to his large fan club.

Summary: Best Book I Have Ever Read
Review: I personally think this book is better that Jurassic Park. Read it - it's nothing like the (bad) movie.

Summary: Dissapointing Sequel!
Review: The Lost World was a dissapointing novel. Some of the scenes were good but it was a lot like its sequel. Many of the scenes just dragged. The overall context was pretty good but it was not the greatest sequel. One of the downfalls of the novels was the constant "the dinosaurs move so much like birds" and "the velociraptors are so intelligent." These two staements were repeated numerous times already in the first novel. This book is nowhere as good as its prequel.

Summary: Excellent, suspensful, what more could you want?
Review: This book was by far one of my all time favorites. I would give Jurassic Park 4 1/2 stars and The Lost World 6 stars! It was action-packed, high-tech, and even more thrilling than Jurassic Park! Crichton makes the impossible a reality and shows us just how far people will go for money. This is one of those books that you definately have to read several times (along with Jurassic Park) to understand the full complexity of the plot. But for any true Crichton fan that goes without saying! I would like to give Michael Crichton my highest complements on this book! But what were they thinking when they TRIED to recreate the book and turn it into a movie? That was an insult. They could have at least made it similar the book!

Summary: A vivid description of an adventure in a Lost World.
Review: Its a riveting novel like Jurassic Park. A vivid journey through the world of savage, untamed, unpredictable creatures. What the animals do is usually unpredictable and strange and we are amazed when we find out they actually use the techniques we thought such as moving in herds. The book brings us where we've never been before. It a detailed journey through the Lost World. Excellent.
