Summary: An action packed thriller
Review: The Lost World is a wonderful sequal to the impressive Jurassic Park. The book manages to keep you interest and in suspense the whole way through. Also, the book contains a great deal of background information about dinosaurs.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: No good nor bad
Review: An easy reading book, semiserious scientific background. Sometimes characters seem to be stupid to give a reason to be eaten. Anyway, the original idea (Jurassic Park) was better than this second part. I expected have read a better book, but it is not so bad to be given only a star.

Summary: I'm dissapointed
Review: The Lost World was not as good as Jurassic Park. For one thing the writing wasn't as good. For another, it lacked the action and adventure. I didn't get into the story. I didn't really care what happened to characters. It was not nearly as gripping as Jurassic Park and I'm dissapointed. Definatly not a page turner.

Summary: An Excellent Book!
Review: "The Lost World" is an excellent book! It's suspense and sense of adventure make it a non-stop page turner. This is surely one of Michael's best novels, and I highly reccomend it to anyone.

Summary: Are You Kidding Me??!!
Review: I can't believe that the same literary genius who wrote Jurassic Park actually wrote this book! The passages were so long winded that I fell asleep twice while reading it. Crichton obviously tried to capatalize from the success of the first book and movie, but fell victim to the sequel jinx. Do yourself a favor, don't buy this book.......unless you ran out of valium and are in need of a decent night's sleep.

Summary: The importance of parents!
Review: This book is a sequel to Crichton's "Jurassic Park." An island off the coast of Costa Rica has been discovered to have been the development factory for the dinosaurs that had been used in Jurassic Park (this book taking place about five years after the events described in the earlier novel). However, scientists note some problems with regards to the dinosaur population on this island: for example, there are far too many predators for such a small island, there are very few mature dinosaurs, and the dinosaurs clearly are behaving abnormally. While this is a fun book to read (particularly with respect to the discussion of why organisms become extinct and the observation that, without the teaching influence of parents, individuals would not know correct behavioral patterns needed for a particular colony of that organism) there were unfortunately some obvious scientific errors (e.g., with respect to prions).

Summary: A great work in Hard SF.
Review: The Lost World continues where Jurassic Park leaves off. Ian Malcome (love his little speeches), and a few others discover a second island where most of the 'production' took place and they embark to make sure that this island is not swarming with dinosaurs now that the Jurassic Park is destroyed. Kudos for flawless science, but I'm gonna have to dock a star for style.

Summary: good, but not as good as the original.
Review: although the lost world was, on its own, a good book to read, it really never even got near its predecessor in terms of quality. crichton could have done a better job with this one if he had created new character, instead of bringing malcolm back, and only leaving dogson in).

Summary: A REAL PAGE TURNER!!!
Review: "The Lost World" was one of the best books i've ever read! When there's action,it's intense and when there's conversation it's interesting. This is the second time i've read the book and even though Idon't enjoy reading books over again this one's so good I had to. the book offers a good prediction of how dinos act and anyone who likes lots of conversation and intense action should readit.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: "Jurassic Park" it's not
Review: To begin with, what this book does wrong is that it brings Ian Malcom back from the dead. He died in the original "Park," now he says, "Only half-dead." Chrichton was banking on this book being made into a movie, so he just wishy-washed his way through it. At times it is exciting and terrorifying, but more often than not disappointing.
