Summary: Ignore the terrible movie, this is SO much better than JP!!!
Review: Ignore the awful movie and Ian Malcolm's welcome if somewhat mysterious return. This is a brilliant sequel to Jurassic Park, a book I didn't like much in the first place. It's a marvellous thrill-fest backed up by Mr. Crichton's usual exhaustive research, and the characters are some of the best he's ever created (mark my words, Richard Levine will go down in history). It's fab.

Summary: My favorite Book.
Review: Much like the first one but even better

Summary: "Dinosaurs don't scare me!" and nither did this.
Review: After one of the most scarest books written, this sequel to Jurassic Park is some what of a let down. Didn't scare me at all. Way, way, way too plotty. Too much destription that was not needed. Original was better. Had more imagination than this. Still, if you want to try to enjoy it, go ahead. But too bland for my tastes.

Review: The Lost World kept me on the edge of my seat. Extremely well written. Occasionally too many cuss words, but over all an ingenius book.

Summary: I read this twice, once before JP, once after, here it goes
Review: PART I. Before JP What are great book! Not only does Cricthon know what he's talking about by tons of research, he really develops characters and tell you everything you need to know about dinosaurs and things of that sort. It's fun, scary and gripping, giving me chilling mental pictures. I have one gripe. It is Ian Malcolm is not incorperated enough, it was hieped as if he were the most important thing which is drastically wrong. Anyway, great book! Read it!

PART II. AFTER JP What a disappointing sequel! Ian Malcolm's 'saving of life' is completely ridiculous. Plus, I don't see why he brought him back. Many people didn't seem to like him. I mean, in JP he was my favortie character because of the philsophical questions and speeches he through at the reader, but that's just me. Another disturbing aspect of this is that in Lost World Ian Malcolm becomes this big old tough guy who the best and all which is completely ridciulous based on the writing of the previous novel. Also, I don't believe Malcolm would be stupid enough to go off to that island filled with dinosaurs, it's implausible. And what about Grant, Ellie, Muldoon, and the kids? Where did they go, did they just vanish? If you're going to bring back Malcolm, why don't you bring back them, too? In any case, this book, though fun, informative, and entertaining is a dissapointment to me, compared to the excellent Jurassic Park.

Summary: Another Excellent book by Michael Crichton
Review: Not as good as the first, but close in the running. I read this book after I went and saw the movie, and let me tell you, it really lowered my expectations, but when I read the book it made the movie look like a piece of crap. This was a great book. I loved how they got just a few of they characters from the first book, and turned them into themain characters of this book. I also liked how the dinosaurs were free to roam in this book, which made it more hazzardous to the people. I also liked How Micheal Crichton kept the same idea between the two books, but he didn't coppy the same plot or story line, he changed it up. I also like how he corrected a few of his mistakes from the first book in this book, like the T-rex only being able to see movement. Michael Crichton really knows how to bring life to the page, this is a must read by anyone.

Summary: THE FIRST TIME A BOOK HAS SCARED ME SO MUCH!!! I LOVE IT
Review: I am a frequent reader of horror, though I do not read it for the "scare-value." I am very immune to being scared (i've read horror all my life). I must say, however, that this is the first time a book has scared the snot out of me.

I was upset by the beginning of the book because of the preasance of Ian Malcom. I love his character dearly, but he quite clearly died in Jurassic Park. Crichton made a very cheap resurection of Malcom, however, for the purposes of this book. Eventually that irratation faded and I got on with the book

I made it through most of it intrigued and intelectually stimulated (as one often does reading a book by Crichton). When I hit the last 80 or so pages, however, I had a creepy feeling set into my spine that followed me well after I finished the book.

A must read, and a wonderful thriller.

Summary: Excellent
Review: This is my second Micheal Crichton book, my first being the gripping Andromeda Strain. This second one is an excellent story of some scientests find that some dinosaurs that were supposed be eliminated are not. Excellent storytelling, Crichton really tells the reader everything he can about the subject, I can't wait to get my hands on another!

Summary: Thrilling & Inventive
Review: Having read most of Crichton's other books, I was very pleased with the sequel to Jurrassic Park. I thought is was more exciting and an interesting twist to continue the story. The beginning did seem to drag a little long, but the book took off much like its predecessor. Much of the book was much easier to read without the emphasis on DNA and how the dinosaurs were created.

Definitely a must read if you enjoyed the first book. Ignore the movie, as usual. In this case only the name was the same.
