Review: One of the best books I have ever read

Summary: Review
Review: The book Lost World is like a car in a sense because it starts out slow and then gains momentum and in reference to the book: it just gets better and better. This isn't the first book I've read by Michael Crichton and it probably won't be the last. Crichton has a way of really getting the reader engulfed in to the book and to not want to put it down. It doesn't take long though for the book to really take off and get exciting. Michael Crichton writes as if he were telling you about it himself. You are easily able to get pictures in your mind of the dinosaurs, the environment and the situation. I personally liked this book because it didn't seem like you were reading any sort of fiction but rather chronicles of a journey in to the unknown. To help at times little pictographs are included along with the text like in the situation of computer readings and listings of documents. This book isn't necessarily recommended to all audiences but rather for those with a high reading skill and understanding, a wide imagination, and a small amount of patience for a few dull moments. Most of all, time is required to sit down and read the book that won't easily let you go.

Summary: One of the greatest books ever
Review: Where do I start? Well, it's been a while since I've read this book, but I still think about it. I liked the original, Jurassic Park, but this was more action-oriented and less technical and it really grabbed and held my attention.

The whole novel, from the very start, was excellent. After reading this book once, twice...three times, I was inspired to start writing the third installation of the series. I'll admit that I was kind of obsessed with the book and never finished the writing.

I would recommend this book to pretty much anyone, as I took extreme pleasure in reading this book over and over. Next to Watcher by Dean Koontz, this is my favorite read.

Review: I must say that while readint THE LOST WORLD, I was thoroughly entertained. No matter what other reviewers may say, I feel that Chricton's writing style is wonderful for ALL ages. For once I was able to sit down and begin reading and SEE the action in my head. I'm not one for intellectual frim-fram, I just like reading a good book. THE LOST WORLD is just that. A GOOD BOOK. Actually, it's better, it's great! I found it more interesting than his first JURASSIC PARK simply because the majority of the science was cut out of the second. In my view there is still enough "meat" out there for a third book. I hope Mr. Chricton is tossing the idea around. But, just on one note. Stick to the book while writing the screenplay next time. The movie of this great book was great until Speilberg's tacked on T-Rex meets San Francisco!

Summary: Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
Review: This book MIGHT have been better if Ian Malcolm was the intelligent smartass he was in the first book. If he's your favourite character, don't read this book. It disillusions you. If you want to read a dinosaur book, for the love of God read Jurassic Park.

Summary: Not as original...but still a good yarn
Review: Michael Chrichton had quite a difficult job in writing a sequel to his fantastic adventure, Jurassic Park--and although it was impossible to create the 'freshness' the original had, I believe he overcame most of these obstacles and has written a very compelling and exciting novel. I admit, the premise of cloned Dinosaurs is STILL absolutely facinating to me, so I literally was foaming at the mouth when it first came out, and Chrichton did his best to make sure that my money was well spent. Indeed it was. I have one small comment about the movie version, though: WHEN are they gonna come out with a novelized version of it? It was SO different from the book as to need it's OWN version in print. Was I the only person who noticed the opening scene in the film version of 'The Lost World' was right out of the book, 'Jurassic Park'? I am a big fan of Spielberg, but he should have been embarassed at this paltry attempt at filmmaking. With that said, give it a try, even though as I said before, the total originality of 'Jurassic Park' isn't there, Chrichton does a superb job of taking his fantastic premise of cloned Dinosaurs from his first book and makes it as fresh as it probably could be in the sequel.

Review: If you are an action type of person this book is for you. Dodgson, Malcolm, Eddie, and Kelly went to an unknown place close to the island of Costa Rica to help Mr. Levine find out more about this place. Later on they find themselves in some big touble, and cann't find their way out if it. This book keeped me on my feet through out the book. Home you enjoy reading this book.

Summary: Big dinosaurs, little teeth
Review: Okay. Everyone says the sequel is not as good as the original. This is true for this venture. It was a money thing I'm sure. Not that Mr. Crichton wouldn't have done a sequel, but I have a feeling it would have been later coming. Ian was great, as usual. Sarah was pretty good (she's no Ellie), and Dodgson was his old wicked self. It is a fun read, but nothing to get the neurons really firing. One thing in its favor, the movie was horrible in comparison to the book. Sorry Mr. Spielberg. Dodgson's fate at the end was worth the read.

Summary: the book was prety good
Review: The book was pretty good because I liked the way it was written I guess. It's about an island that used to be a dinosaur hatchery when Jurrasic Park was still in business, but now the dinosaurs are the only ones on the island. A group of scientists go there to observe them and see how dinosaurs might have become extinct, but the dinosaurs attack them, and they have to get off the island.
