Rating: Summary: A little Weak Review: this book was a little weak in content. a lot of characters and tough to identify with most of them. not truly developed. And i'm a big Demille fan - this one fell short along w/cathedral
Rating: Summary: A Virtual Survivalist Manuel Review: This book will show you why Israel is one of the most powerful nations on the planet. Intelligent dialogue, at least one character every reader can identify with, a solid Middle East history lesson - all wrapped up inside an entertaining and thrilling story. This book is strongest when it concentrates on how the 50 resourceful Concorde passengers set up their defense against 150 well armed Palestinian terrorists. Even hard-to-please readers finding certain aspects of this book "flawed" will find that the time reading it was very well spent.
Rating: Summary: Would Be Better As A Movie Review: This book would would probably be better as a movie than it was as a book. In fact, it would make a great movie. It's easier to stretch reality to its limits in a film. In the book, it becomes almost ludicrous. I did like the book though, particularly the last third or so when it begins to rock. I would definitely recommend reading it, but it's not nearly the best in its genre.
Rating: Summary: By the Rivers of Babylon Review: THis review is short and sweet - the book is FANTASTIC! Ranks right up there with Word of Honor, which I also loved. I stayed up until 2AM because I couldn't put this book down. By the Rivers of Babylon goes one better in delving into the ancient history of Babylon, and the Jewish-Arab conflict, and plays it against a modern plot of an Israeli airliner forceably downed at the ancient site of Babylon. A really GREAT read!
Rating: Summary: Precursor to Great Things Review: Though not his best (nor his worst) Nelson DeMille's structure and writing for his best books (Gold Coast, Charm School, Plum Island) is presaged here. DeMille's best traits are developing and enriching his books with realistic characters as well as a knack for storytelling - both of which are done well.
