Rating: Summary: Another winner! Review: Mr. Griffin has done it again, thankyou for my biannual dose. Advice to the uninitiated: pick one of the series and start from the beginning.
Rating: Summary: Loved IT. Mr. Griffin does it again. Review: Great book. I have read all of them, except the one's written under Baldwin. The minor inconsistencies (Richard/Robert Macklin) bother me a little, but not enough to stop reading. Call it artistic license. I have one question and one comment for Mr. Griffin: Question Who is Charley? Comment Please write faster!
Rating: Summary: Mr Griffin is the master! Once again he creates a classic. Review: Having read all of Mr Griffins previous novels, it was with some trepidation that I setttled into "In Dangers Path". I was not to be disapointed. Put simply, no one does it better. I will read it several times this month before putting it away for another year and dusting it off for another read. Well done W.E.B.!
Rating: Summary: This is the way the story should progress. Review: I enjoyed Mr. Griffins latest work about the Corps. It set the stage for the Gobi adventure that we have heard so much about in the previous Corps books, a mission the was always put on the back burner. As far as the "inaccuracies" go, I do not read books like this to find out the airspeed or range of a Catalina. There has to be some artistic license. Also, if you are concerned about " character development", then read volumns 1 thru 7. Please hurry with volumn 9, Mr. Griffin.
Rating: Summary: Griffin's characters transcend military context to soar! Review: Having enjoyed Clancy, Brown, Coontz, Berent and many other 'military' writers, I stumbled upon Griffin several years ago, and have eagerly awaited each new effort, including the sometimes pedantic "Badge" series. "In Danger's Path" takes our favorite characters, General Pickering, 'Killer' McCoy, Zimmerman, Major Dillon, and several new additions into the Gobi desert, ostensibly to establish a weather station to guide allied aircraft. The sometimes commical search for the "lost" Americans wandering the desert with their wives and children becomes at times more important than the 'mission'. Griffin's characters often display decidedly unmilitary behavior, and their colorful exploits have entertained this reader for many years.
Rating: Summary: Where's the action? Don't blink or you'll miss it! Review: Considering that the book was billed as a great adventure novel, where is the action? Don't blink, or you'll miss it as it is crammed in the middle of Griffin's rehashing of old stories. and let's not even talk about the inaccuracies.
Rating: Summary: Absorbing, compelling, but full of annoying inconsistencies. Review: I stayed up all night finishing it and wished it were longer, but was annoyed with the inconsistencies with the previous books in the series. I've read each of Griffin's books at least twice and know the characters well--I only wish the author and his editors did, too.
Rating: Summary: W.E.B. Griffin calls to every person who's heard the bugle! Review: From machine gun McCoy to El Colonel Freide to shooting phesants with the Generals somehow the FEEL is there. Who could ask for anything but more. Come on Griffin type faster!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Hard hitting novel! Review: Griffin writes well and enjoyably however, I am disturbed by the way his words treat women. This novel Martha, admired for her abstinence becomes aggressive spoiling a good ending in this and next novel.
Rating: Summary: Couldn't put it down until I had read the last line. Review: Another great one in the Corp series. I can't wait for the next one!
