Summary: A fantastic thriller novel
Review: In the genre of thriller novels, Follet's "The Eye of the Needle" is one of the best. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys thriller novels..you will not be disappointed with this one...trust me.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: One of the Best
Review: This is a great tale of espionage and mystery. While reading this book, I sometimes forgot it was fiction. This is due to the realism and research that Ken Follett put into this book. I give this book an A+ and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys war thrillers.

Summary: Eye of the Needle
Review: I was really excited when I began to read this book. I love history and WWII is probablly my favorite war. The first half of the book is really good and suprising. I thought I was in for a good read. The story had so much potential. I was dissapointed when the author portrayed the man , Henry Faber, with such expertise at the beginning but then turned his personality totally around at the end. To be a suspence thriller the plot was easy guessed and the key element of suprise was left out. The author failed to make the book the slight bit realistic by leaving out any trace of human error in his charachters. I always knew what was going to happen and was dissapointed when I dicovered my conclusions were right.

Summary: Another Great Read from Follett
Review: This is the seventh book by Ken Follett that I have read and I think it is among his best. The story is packed with the suspense you would expect from a WWII spy story. It is easy to feel the adrenaline the Needle had during his many close calls. If you like Ken Follett, you will love this book.

Summary: A Classic!
Review: This is quite possibly the best espionage book ever written--read this book!

Summary: Excellently written, as always
Review: Follett has discovered the secret to writing a greataction-based story. The secret is not to keep the reader insuspense. If there is a secret to be discovered during the course of the plot of the story, an action story's plot is only hindered and dragged down by dragging out the secret. Many action novels derive their length and content from revolving around the fact that there is a secret, and the characters spend the bulk of the story trying to find out what the secret is. But Follett's stories are more sophisticated than this. He doesn't worry about the fact that when the secret is out, the story may come to an abrupt end. Rather, he lets the secret out almost immediately, and then lets its subsequent ramifications drive the story.

Summary: A great piece of WWII fiction that was impossible to put dow
Review: This was an excellent book, I have read it 3 times so far, and am planning on reading it again. The plot has superb twists and turns and the character depth is amazing. This is a MUST READ!

Summary: A brilliant novel of suspense
Review: Using late World War II as a backdrop for a breathtaking tale of espionage, Ken Follett brings together a ruthless German spy and a resourceful young Englishwoman, a combination that, believe it or not, serves at a catalyst for the Allies' victory. Though a work of fiction, EYE OF THE NEEDLE is utterly convincing from explosive beginning to explosive climax. The structure of the novel is fairly straightforward, but Follett manipulates the plot expertly and deftly, placing this story notches higher than the average chase thriller. What's notable here is the deft combination of wry British wit, skillful characterization, and flawless research, that makes this an adventure story worth reading for its intelligence and realism as well as its ample chills. As one of the character puts it, "Jolly good show."

Summary: why does everyone think it's sooo excellent?
Review: I agree and think Ken Follet is a great writer, but what is everyone raving about? Yes, this book was exciting, but it just didn't hit the spot for me completely. I defedently think others should read it, but I sadly was not as impressed as I thought I would be.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Follett has opened me up to a new genre of books
Review: I have not even finished the book yet, but am enjoying it so much I had to share my experience with everyone. I got a hold of a vintage 1979 copy from my stepfather's library and have not been able to put it down. This book quenches that thirst we all have for suspense and intrigue.
