Rating: Summary: John Grishams, The Partner Review: A man by the name of Patrick Lanigan was hired by a law firm and was considered a partner. He fakes his own death by acting like he was in a burning car, when really he wasnt. All that was left of him was said to be ashes, when really at his funeral he was there watching. After his funeral he ran to Brazil with 90 million dollars that he stole from the lawfirm. This book keeps you wanting to read more and more. At times it is slow but comes back with a bang. Grisham uses great detail in this novel so at all times you know what is happening and what is around the situation. He leaves his money with his accomplice Eva Miranda, so it is hard to trace. Then on a hunt for Lanigan is a man by the name of Jack Stephano who has spent many years looking for him. When he catches him he asks him where the money is he dosent know because he gave the money to Miranda and he dosent know where she is. They caught Lanigan and are now taking him back to where this all started, and to have a trial that will be unforgetible. The book keeps you interested in the beginning, and fades in the middle, and jumps out at the end. The overall outlook on this book is that it was well written, and the irony was unblievable and suspensful. This novel was written well and like all other Grisham books has a great ending.
Rating: Summary: IM in the middle of this book Review: Wow, what can i say. I'm not finished with the book and I'm half way through it but as far as I can say its incredible what has happend so far. So far I love every book that John has written. Although I've read some reviews when people are dissapointed. Sometimes you have to look at the book in a different point of view in order to like it or understand it for the least.
Rating: Summary: A great adventure, an average law book, a good mystery Review: It starts at with a man being chased and caught by sleazy and mysterious kidnappers. It turns out this man ripped off his law firm of millions. Caught by his company and the US government, he works with a woman to keep his fortune and stay out of jail.Grisham spins a good tale. It starts out as a great adventure, then turns into a superb mystery, then through intrigue, subterfuge and a slow unraveling of the mystery, a law book emerges. Grisham, a great storyteller, doesn't let down in this book. The plot moves quickly and grabs the reader. A true page-turner. Any fan of Grisham, or good stories in general, should pick this up.
Rating: Summary: Best Grisham book ever! Review: I have read most of John Grisham's books, but this was the best since A Time to Kill. I could not stop reading and the twisted plot kept me guessing all the way. I was completely shocked at the surprise ending. I highly recommend it!
Rating: Summary: Grisham Does it Again With The Partner Review: If you love Grishams style of writing, you will like this book. I like anything he has written ( SO FAR ANYWAY).
Rating: Summary: pure junk Review: I can't believe that any self-respecting publisher would allow this to be printed. It's obviously meant to be turned into a movie. The writing is insipid - Grishom has a habit of not using full sentences and writing like he talks, which is bad writing technique. The characters are flat, and all the loose ends are too conveniently taken care of. I can't believe I wasted a few precious hours on this, and I am warning others who read this review not to make the same mistake.
Rating: Summary: Almost perfect Review: Another Grisham great with all the elements we love so much: thrilling suspense, betrayal, hints of romance and a flawless intellectual plot. My only disappointment with "The Partner" was the very predictable ending.
Rating: Summary: It doesn't get any better than this Review: I have read a total of 4 Grisham books: The Pelican Brief, The Testament, The Street Lawyer, and most recently The Partner. I just finished it tonight. I simply couldn't put it down, and I rarely say that. This is by far the best of the four, though I have not read all of his books yet but plan to do so. Why does everyone hate the ending? At first I was shocked, but then I realized how much better it made the story(I won't give it away). Unlike his other novels I have read, I found virtually nothing boring in this book. It was written so well it is amazing. I don't see how anyone could not enjoy this book.
