Rating: Summary: Show me the money! Review: Interesting Grisham tale of a lawyer that takes millions of dollars from his firm after faking his own death. Grisham usually is able to hook his readers early and ,in this case, doesn't play his hand to soon. The usually reliable Frank Mueller makes this story even an even better bet on Audiobook.
Rating: Summary: Grisham at his best Review: I have seen all of the negative feedback this book has received and most of it is due to the ending of the book. I enjoy Grisham because he doesn't believe in always having the good guys win and ride off into the sunset. God forbid if the book isn't predictable from front to back.I have read most of Grisham's books and found this to be one of the better ones. It comes with plenty of the usual plot twist and an unpredictable ending. If you have enjoyed Grisham's other novels then you can't go wrong with "The Partner".
Rating: Summary: Yet another masterpeice Review: I found his books on a holiday in America and have read through 3 in the last week and a half If you have read many of Grisham's books then you will definatly like this one. Even if you have never read a book in your life then this is a good one to start on. Starting with the capture, torture and interrigation of Patrick it goes on to the crime he commited and to the huge amount of law suits filed against him. The ending was a twist which no one was expecting and was something of a bad ending. This doesn't take down any of my enjoyment of the book as it occured at the very end. The legal maniplution makes you laugh out loud especially the devorce case.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: There is something new and exciting on every page. It keeps you up all night until you can bearly keep your eyes open. There is not very much to dislike about this book unless you don't like a great book!
Rating: Summary: Yet One More Review: Another one in the Grisham burn and churn machine of legal thrillers. All of his stories are about the same so I will not add to the other reviews full of the story details. I just could not believe the main story line, and for me that spelled the death of the book. I kept saying to my self - "yea right". Overall, the author continues in his long chain of McBooks and gives us something that holds your interest over TV commercials, but really does not offer a sink your teeth into story. This book is a light, easy to read and complete legal novel that will be forgotten in a few years.
Rating: Summary: BAD, HORRIBLE, AWFUL ending! Review: This book was really good-until page 460! If you read this book make up your own ending-don't read Grisham's! I hope his other books don't have such a bad ending! I don't plan to read another book of his until i hear otherwise. If all his books have such an awful ending i don't plan on reading any of them! I was all excited about what would happen to Patrick and Eva- until the ending! Ruin the whole book why don't ya Grisham! I think all your book sales have gone to your head!
Rating: Summary: Big disappointment! Review: I will let anyone who wants to read this book make up his or her mind as to its quality. However, after reading it, I felt like I had wasted a lot of time. The ending was very disappointing and very illogical to me. Perhaps that was the effect Mr. Grisham was aiming for, I don't know. It seemed to me, though, that the ending was poorly developed and completely inconsistent with prior internal character dialogue.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic, but ODD ending Review: This book was gripping - I could not put it down. However, the ending changed that. Then ending consisted of maybe 2 pages. It was as if someone told Grisham "hey, you have to end this book this afternoon" and he threw something together reaaaal quick....Other than that, 99.44% of it was completely engaging.
Rating: Summary: Lousy ending to a pretty decent read Review: Not only did I not like the ending, it just did not fit the character development which preceeded it. Up to that point, the book was quite engaging and a page-turner. But the very last twist was too much - and left me unhappy, wishing that the very unlikely ending had never been pasted into the manuscript.
Rating: Summary: Loved it Review: This was one of my favorite Grisham novels, full of the legal and emotional suspense his fans crave. A firm's fifth partner fake's his won death and disappears with 90 million dollars of the firm's money. But that much money doesn't just disappear. Four years later, someone has found him, and the drama begins... I was pretty surprised bu the conclusion of this novel, and there were lots of twists and turns along the way. If you like The Runaway Jury, you should really enjoy this.
