Rating: Summary: What's the matter with these bad reviews? It was great! Review: What's the matters with all these negative people who don'tlike unforeseen endings. I thought it was great - one of his bestsince Time to Kill which is still my favorite. Sure beat that boring "Runaway Jury"
Rating: Summary: Grisham needs a new schtick Review: Is it just me, or are all Grisham works the same book withdifferent characters? I admit I have not read all of them, howeverthe ones I have read are so similiar that I cannot keep track of which book it is. The female leads of "The Partner" and "The Runaway Jury" may as well be the same person. Both mysterious, beautiful and holding all the cards. The lead lawyer characters of "The Firm" and "The Partner" may as well be interchangeable. Grisham needs to lose his "submit new character name here" style of writing and prove he can move beyond "The Firm" genre with something intelligent, well written and totally original.
Rating: Summary: Disappointing Review: I love John Grisham and was very excited to read his newestbook. Unlike his other books, this one didn't grab me from thebeginning. I kept reading it thinking that it would get better. It did, but only a little. The ending was a bitter disappointment. I will read his next book because I know it will have to be better than The Partner. This was not the John Grisham I know and love.
Rating: Summary: Fun book!! Review: This book was an enjoyable book. The suspense was there, theplot was there, but the ending was not there. i was very suprise bythe ending. it was an awkward ending. i've read all of his books and this one has the most disappointing ending. it was still a great book to read. very exciting. keep up the good work Mr. Grisham. Take some time on the ending.
Rating: Summary: VERY Entertaining!! Review: I was very entertained throughout this book, though the endingleft a little to be desired (which is true of several other Grishambooks). I was reminded of the Runaway Jury all through this book as his plot revolves around a person who has taken great pains to hide his true identity with the help of a female love interest. I read books to be entertained and this book fit the bill to a "T".
Rating: Summary: Good Grisham Review: Grisham has gotten back to his old self. Interesting storyline. He rambles a little less than usual. Good surprise ending.
Rating: Summary: Excellent beginning and middle; horrible ending. Review: A very taut and plot-twisting book. Grisham made you feel theintense heat and suspense. Although it was a very good book, this isdefinitely NOT one of his best; it had without a doubt, one of the most disappointing endings I can ever remember reading. If it weren't for the ending, I would have given it a 9. A movie will likely (hopefully) be made, and hopefully, they'll change the ending; otherwise it'll be box office death for it.
Rating: Summary: Plot Twists Abound! Review: John Grisham again keeps us twisting and turning through asuspense that it is difficult to put down. Every time you think youcan predict what is going to happen, a new detail catches you completely off guard. Not to give anything away, but make sure you read every page, this one isn't over until the very end. Another excellent work by Grisham, whose maturity as a writer is showing more with each publication.
Rating: Summary: Longest Grisham book ever! Review: Or maybe it only seemed like the longest. In general, I likeGrisham's writing, even loved a few of his earlier works. But Icouldn't help feeling that in this one, he was just trying to meet a deadline. I found I didn't care what happened to any of the characters. They were undeveloped and you just couldn't work up any sympathy for even the main character. I got so bored in the middle that I did something I rarely do - read the last few pages early. Then I scanned through most of the rest. Just didn't care anymore. Sorry Mr. Grisham, maybe you ought to concentrate not on quantity of books but quality!
Rating: Summary: Nothing special Review: I was excited when Grisham put on a new book as he is one of myfavorite authors, but this book did not live up to his usualexpectations. It had no interesting plot turns, and Grisham's usual knack for character development and an interesting plot failed him.
