Rating: Summary: Interesting plot, but that's it Review: It's clear that Grisham know how to weave a compelling plot. If only he could do it about realistic characters that I had reason to care about. I found the second-half of the book such a good page-turner that I was willing to ignore Grisham's superficial characterizations, but the ending--which was totally out of character and quite implausible--really left me disappointed.
Rating: Summary: What's your hurry Mr. Grisham? Review: This tale of a partner in a law firm who fakes his death..runs amuck, etc. leaves, in my opinion, much to be desired. I wait anxiously every year for Mr. Grisham to pen his latest work and release it to the world..unfortunately..I'll wait for his paperback next time!
Rating: Summary: Beats Runaway Jury by amile! Review: This book moved quickly and was an excellent read. I ususally finish his books in a few hours and this one was'nt any differant. I found that Only in his best intrest that Patrick made the great escape form the "firm" and that he really didi nothing except what many of us wish we could. I was happy and torn between where my sympathy should be . Over all I love the book and will re-read it agian......
Rating: Summary: The Whipped cream on the sundae of JG novels Review: When's the cherry coming? Grisham has done it again, where does he get such fantastic ideas? Riveting to the core, this un-put-down-able book
is yet another bit of evidence that proves who is the writer of the 90's
Mr.Grisham, I can't wait to read your next novel!

Full of logical thingking in planning, and it shows you that good life is happen to a good planner, like Patrick Lanigan (alias Danilo silva) did in his life.!In this book, grisham has succesfully made a very suitable character with the story it self, a calm, smart, and a very lucky man ,Danilo Silva. Rating: Summary: Give Grisham A Break. Review: Hey all you Southerners. Let's rally around one of our own!!This book was probably the best after "A Time to Kill". Iread it to the very end just like the rest of you did and I thought it was wonderful. Maybe he does need to write a sequel. Rember, Miranda is no one's fool but neither is Patrick. Keep up the good work John. When you write you write about things I know and love. I'm not a lawyer but I am a Southerner born and bred. Your books give me a taste of home like no other author. Michelle Stroud END
Rating: Summary: One of the best he has to offer!!! Review: Grisham proves once again that he can do no wrong when it comes to writing legal thrillers, the way the story unfolds keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Rating: Summary: In Partner They Trust Review: "The Parner" provides easy reading for that lazy afternoon when you need something to perk you up. How about a resurfacing law-firm partner who seems to be an innocently straight-faced victim, fighting for a fair trial, fighting for his right to be heard, and gaining the sympathy of many people around him, and yet...
Rating: Summary: grisham's best work so far. hard to put down. Review: John Grisham has in this book created a character who despite being prima facie , a crook, is able to instill a sense of empathy in the reader as Patrick (the Partner) has readers booing him in the beginning, cheering for him in the middle and crying with him in the end. I am eagerly awaiting John Grisham's next book although it may be hard to beat The Partner.
Rating: Summary: Gritty, loaded with plots twists...try to ignore the flaws Review: Grisham displays his control over plot with the way the story unfolds of a supposedly unscrupulous lawyer who flees his decent partners, wife and child and makes off with 90 million big ones. Gradually, we learn that all is not what it seems. I love the fact that the main character is a flawed individual yet we root for him (remember the main character in The Firm who cheated on his wife?). The last chapter is controversial and it works in principal. Grisham just should have worked on it a day longer...the set up should have been stronger. Yet it makes sense and ultimately gives the book a satisfying flavor. (Wanna bet in the movie that the two lovers live happily ever after????)
