Summary: It touches your deepest desires - and fears.
Review: There is something inherrently needful about John Grishams newest book. Deep inside all of us, there is a touch of the wanderer- a throwback to our days of heading ever west, to the great, untamed, unknown portions of our country, perhaps? Or even further back, when men roamed Europe, Africa and Asia, following the herds, fleeing hunger and strife? Maybe - maybe not. But Grishams books have always affected me on a deeply intellectual level - he takes one of the most complex subjects in the world - the law - and demystifies it, explains it in terms even I can understand. The thought of running - no, more than that, hiding and changing your very life - is something that we all dream of, at least once. Who hasn't wanted to drop it all and live in a cabin in the mountains or in a jungle in South America? Grisham lets us explore our fantasies, and the darker side of them. The only part of the novel that I was dissatified with was the end, and even that was understandable - realistic, even. Read the book, and you'll understand what I mean. It's thought provoking throughout, and definitely worth looking into, for old Grisham fans or new.

Summary: One of his better books.
Review: Thoroughly enjoyed the book and the background information. Especially how he weaves the information into an exciting story that covers many places. Had to keep reading it. However, I was disappointed in the ending. Felt it was rather weak compared to the rest of the book. Once everything has fallen into place I expected more - I was 'hanging' on each result until ..... the end.

Summary: bad after-taste
Review: I actually enjoyed this story, until I finished it and really thought about it. Grisham is such a master of imagining ways to manipulate our flawed legal system - the media plays, wire transfers of funds, jetting around the world, exploiting the press - it's easy to get caught up in rooting for his protagonists. But Patrick Lanigan was less than any of the others. Patrick abandons the 2-yr-old little girl who grows up knowing him as daddy, just because he finds out that he wasn't the sperm donor. Not only is it hard for me to feel sympathy for this man - I actually am repulsed. Also, the money that was stolen (hypothetically) belonged to the American taxpayer, and Lanigan finds a way to screw us royally. He could have turned in the crooks and set things right. The way Grisham carefully constructed the torture scene to try to make us feel sympathy for this schmuck really makes me sick. Hey, you steal from the mob, you're taking your chances. Anybody knows that. Also, was there any reader in the entire world who thought Lanigan really murdered someone to set up his disappearance? It was too obvious to hold the slightest shred of suspense. Grisham's writing talent and ability to detail a plot commands my respect, however the immoral statements he makes in The Partner reveals to me that his character is far less than desirable.

Summary: A superbly woven tale of mans obsessions with money
Review: For once the author has not bothered to showcause the hero fighting against any institution/body, but has delved into far more deeper matter like a mans obsession with proving himselves, but sadly always in terms of materialistic views especially with money. His (hero's) superior wit, winning against the big guns of the commercial jungle,Outsmarting every one, but on the way planting a seed that would be his own downfall. The unsuspecting hero trusting his life away with his girlfriend ( Even the reader unsuspectingly ends up trusting the truthfullness of the female companion ). The waiting game takes its toll on the moral value of the heroine, but the author doesnot permit the reader even glimpse of whats happening in the minds of the Heroine and as to whats in store for the hero once he has outsmarted all, and is looking forward to peacefull and fruitfull life with his would be bride. The story brings in a few charatcers that throw in their subtle inputs in confusing the issue and takes the readers mind away from the possibilities.... In the end... A remarkable story, a pleasant change in style and presentation of characters by the author in comparison to his earlier books ( Except the Runaway Jury - which again was a good story but again about morals)..

Summary: Good with a bad ending
Review: It was a good book and kept me wanting to read it but the ending was really stupid. John I like your books but why did you do this stupid ending?

Summary: great book
Review: I couldn't put this one down, however, I was disappointed by the ending because I don't read very many books and I was non-stop reading this one to the end. What a letdown. But, there was a single phrase that tipped me off to the ending, looking back, now.... While reading, I was confused by that line but I believe it was a forshadowing...but a very subtle one. ... I was proud of myself for catching that but still very upset with the ending.

Summary: AWESOME, YET......
Review: The first moment I laid my eyes on this particular book I felt in love with its catchy cover. The beginning of the book proved to be really exciting and total can't-put-down.As the story develops I found it more and more difficult to believe that such a crime or tall-tale can be dealt with. I mean, seriously how many of the white-collar pimps out there could manage to escape every single charges rested upon him. It's just too easy. Too easy and absurd from the likes of John Grisham. Though it's not a total let down, judging from his previous writings, I still find that it could have been better.I'm 15 and love reading on stuff like this alike. (Mr.Grisham, if you reading this i hope you not angry). This last book of yours made reading Goosebumps at night a plesure.

Summary: GRISHAM IS AN EXTRORDINARY AUTHOR
Review: EVERY SINGLE GRISHAM BOOK IS A PAGE-TURNER!
HIS TALENT NEVER CEASES TO AMAZE ME!
THE PARTNER WAS A BRILLIANT BOOK AND I CAN'T WAIT FOR HIS NEXT ONE!
I KNOW IT WILL BE AS CAPTIVATING AND COMPELLING AS ALL OF HIS BOOKS HAVE BEEN!

Summary: Grisham is still #1
Review: This book has a thrilling plot, great charcters, and everything else. Grisham writes about something alot of us wish we could do - screw a law firm, run off with 90 million dollars and live happily in Brazil. This book may not be extremely true to life as far as if it would really happen, but it's still a GREAT read. I highly recommend it!

Summary: Typical Grisham re-hash
Review: Grisham keeps writing the same book over and over and getting worse along the way. He must have pictures of blockbuster movies in his head when he writes since his books are so easy to turn to film. You have to give him credit for one thing. No one keeps ripping off his readers on such a grand scale! Instead of buying his books why not wait and get them at the library( like I do) and then you won't feel like you have thrown your money away.
