Summary: At last, something without a huge STATEMENT
Review: i've been disappointed with grisham's work for the past couple of years. his stories were turning into excuses for expressing his strong views on everything in our society. in the partner, his statements are more subtle, and don't over take the book. its an interesting novel, and a departure from his usual style. the ending was a bit abrupt, and very unexpected, there was something fun to it, but a part of me was also tuned off by its finale.

Summary: Attention grabbing & suspensful
Review: I have to read a book that grabs my attention right away and holds on to it for the entire book, this one did that for sure. It was not what I had expected at all and the ending WOW!! I would have changed the ending but it sure made you think about the results of wrongdoing. I could not put the book down, I read it every second I got. I read the book in 3 days, a record for me. It is one of the best books I have read in a long time. I like legal stories and medical dramas so I will definetly be reading more of John Grisham's books.

Summary: Good book, terrible, terrible ending.
Review: I would have given this book an 8 or 9 had it not been for the ending. Patrick didn't care for his partners, his wife or his life, so it was understandable why he did what he did. What wasn't understandable however was what happened at the end..

Summary: Perfect!
Review: Grisham has done it again! A fast paced, well thought out thriller that will keep you guessing. Grisham turns the crook into a hero in this masterful story where the reader gets hooked on the main character's genius and has no desire for him to come to justice. Grisham brings the story to a perfect conclusion. Ranking up there with The Firm and The Pelican Brief, The Partner is one, of if not the best Grisham work on the shelves!

Summary: Excellent detail; word pictures make you see the story
Review: Excellent book. As a some time writer, I appreciate the excellent detail. The ending is something I might do. I like that!

Summary: This one was hard to put down!
Review: This was the second John Grisham book I have read, the frist was "The Pelican Brief." This is a much better book. I especially liked the plot twists and turns and found myself cheering for Patrick, the main character. I finished this one in record time because I had a hard time putting it down. Even after I finished it, I was still thinking about the story, it was quite clever.

Summary: WONDERFUL, WITH A VERY UN-GRISHAM LIKE ENDING
Review: I am quite surprised by all of the reviews in which the readers were dissapointed with the ending. I found it very refreshing that finally, one of Grisham's characters did not end up on a beach sipping Pina Coladas. Patrick turned out to be a very tragic figure. He was a shell of his former self that was even more pitiful than when he was caught. I thought, in the conclusion, that Grisham painted a graphic picture of a very desperate man. Dirty, drunk, unshaven, and reduced to borrowing money from a friend. My hat goes off to Mr. Grisham for not giving his fans what they are used to. A happy ending.

Summary: Great book and an ending with a surprising twist
Review: This book was riveting. The pages turned quickly. Unlike some of the comments I have seen about Grisham's newer book, there is no hint about moralism in this work. Angles and sub-plots keep popping up, and will keep you reading. I highly recommend The Partner.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Absolutly one of the best of Grisham's collections.
Review: This book was so good and so interesting that I finish in less than a week. The only thing I disagreed with was the ending, not because of the way it ended it's just that I wanted it to end differently than what it did. It surely surprise me.

Summary: Patrick's plan was incredible..but
Review: I have not read many of John Grisham's books. I could not wade through The Firm, but this one showed a thorough planner at work and his plan worked out very well, except for one small detail.
