Rating: Summary: Probably his worst Review: The book started off well with the scenes in South America, but the perfectly put together plan when Peter was hauled back to the US was too much too take. The glaring flaw in Peter's plans was obvious a third of the way through the book and so the "surprise" ending to me seemed predictable. I thought the Rainmaker was Grisham's best book, but after The Partner and The Street Lawyer, it seems he is running out of ideas and becoming more and more formulaic.
Rating: Summary: Great book Review: I thought it was good but not his best. I liked the charectors, and plot but it was not always exciting.
Rating: Summary: Finally a worthy Grisham effort Review: While this book is not nearly in the league of The Firm and a Time to Kill, this is Grisham's best effort in a long time. The plot and characters were interesting, and the book didn't seem anti-climactic at the end likr the Chamber, the Rainmaker, and the recent Street Lawyer. I was immensely pleased after reading this book that grisham was able to deliever some of the stuff that got me hooked on him in the first place.
Rating: Summary: Perfect! Even better than the last one, The Runaway Jury. Review: John Grisham improves himself at every book he writes. The more he writes, the better he does it. It is quite difficult to explain it without being repetitive. Each story is different, one from another, not only, is better, but what is more, with each book John Grisham hooks the reader. It causes read-alcoholic, as the more you read, the more you want. In conclusion, I liked it!
Rating: Summary: Intense Read - Weak Ending Review: Okay. So I have read every Grisham book he has written. I found the Partner to be a quick, intense read, (by intense I mean the first 300 pages flew by), but find myself disappointed in the ending. I kept hoping she "just got lost".
Rating: Summary: I liked it - maybe a part 2?? Review: I liked this one. I could not figure out how he was going to get out of it. It was great to see all the forethought that went into planning the details. Eva was a little too mysterious for me - I couldn't picture her in my mind. Maybe JG could have described some of their time and what they had in common. Overall, I really liked it and have recommended it to others.
Rating: Summary: Don't Listen to it On Audio Tape Review: You'll be so annoyed and bored with Patrick's wait and see manipulation. And the ending was tacked on and weird. Does anyone else think Grisham is as overhyped as Seinfeld?
Rating: Summary: Great writing style, but I didn't like any of the characters Review: This was my first reading of a John Grisham novel. I like his writing style ad pacing, but this story just wasn't for me. I didn't like Patrick, I thought he was little more than a common thief. Never mind his motivations. And there's a little twist at the end that just didn't work for me. I seem to be in the great minority, but this book just didn't do a thing for me other than make me say "I might read another of his books."
Rating: Summary: Great story of what everyone would like to do at some point! Review: I liked it for the most part. The way Patrick got out of every jam kind of made me say "You've got to be kidding" It was the perfect crime if you accept a lot of the coincidences, which I did. Torn by the suprise ending though.
Rating: Summary: bellissimo con grande passione Review: Il solito grisham, bella la parte della donna
