Rating: Summary: A real page turner. Just don't turn to the last page. Review: Eloquent and intriguing. I was hooked to the plot, the characters, and the concept in general. Certainly Grisham's best work in a while. Especially after a couple of disappointing ventures recently. Everything fits together perfectly and even manages to remain believable until the end...however, I still recommend this book to any fan of Grisham.
Rating: Summary: One of the best Review: I thouroughly enjoyed this book and will read it again. The ideas were interesting and shows how criminals can fall through the cracks of the justice system. The only reason I rated it a 4 instead of 5, is because of the ending. Maybe thats a cue to the author to write The Partner II and give the readers what they want to see happen...
Rating: Summary: A Great Book!! Just like all of the rest! Review: Grisham is still going strong! I have and have read all of his books. The only book I haven't read yet of his but do own is Street Lawyer. I am sure that this will be just as good as all of the rest! My excuse for not reading Street Lawyer yet? I am reading a 4book series and I'm on #4 now. If you haven't yet read Grisham, my recommendation is to try him out. You'll be another fan too.
Rating: Summary: Formulaic page turner with a disappointing ending Review: I hope that some day Grisham will move out of the steamy South and give his female characters some strength (other than sneakiness). However, I did find this a good summer read but, as many other reviewers have mentioned, felt ambushed and let down. All his other two dimensional characters at least stayed close to their plot limitations. And then he drops this bomb at the end. All in all, it left a disappointing taste in my mouth. I don't need a sappy ending, but at least onet that make's sense would have been nice.
Rating: Summary: What a let-down! Review: I literally flung the book across the room after I read it. It was a great read up until the end. I LIKE happy endings. If I wanted to be depressed I would watch the news. Hopefully his next book will not disappoint.
Rating: Summary: Awesome book! Review: It takes real criminal knowledge to plan the events they way they unfold in this book. The ending is surprising and not necessarily what the reader wants to see. I was disappointed and pleasantly surprised at the same time.
Rating: Summary: I kept waiting for the big disaster; predictable ending Review: As I was reading this book, I kept thinking that something else was going to happen. Although the story, and especially the main character Patrick, were interesting, it just left me wanting for something juicier. And, about 100 pages in I knew how it was going to end. Oh well, better luck next time. Normally Grisham keeps me intensely reading (except for A Time to Kill, ugh) but this one left me a little disappointed.
Rating: Summary: Very Good Book Review: This novel is one of the best books i have read. The ending wasnt that great, yet it was awesome anyways. I read this book in 4 days and i just couldnt put it down. This is one of Grishams best.
Rating: Summary: Not his best is all I have to say! Review: Throughout the book...it was interesting, but that is all I am going to say. In this book...I thought a lot of things contradicted each other and it was not as much of a masterpiece as he has written in his other books. There weren't as many plots and twists and turns as in his other books that he is known for, and in the end...it was kind of obvious who is going to who and what is going to be what. I just didn't like it as much as his other books.
Rating: Summary: A great story with a bad ending. Review: This is a very suspensful, fast-moving story. It is definitely a page turner. However, I must say that I just hated the ending.
