Rating: Summary: Fast Read Review: I liked this book so much better that The Chamber. This one is typical Grisham. He has a way of making you like the bad guy. I wish I could find a logical reason for stealing all of that money. I'm sure this one will make a great movie.
Rating: Summary: Charactoristic Grisham, but dry. Review: If you like Grisham, I suppose this one won't let you down, but it just lacked the big-scale excitement of his others. The writing itself-description, emotions, details-are great, but really, it's just a story about lawyers using slimy tactics to avoid penalties.
Rating: Summary: A downer... Review: I usually read a novel twice to fully absorb the objective and subjective content of it. Of all Grisham's novels I'd read, this was the most disappointing. The beginning is very, very exciting but as the plot unfolds; bham! the reader is forced to swallow the bland facts. And at the end; whallop! I want to break my Audio-CD in half. Grisham fails to develop the whole personality of Eva.... I have yet to read "The Street Lawyer" though.
Rating: Summary: I thought it was okay for a John Grisham book. Review: I thought that the way the book was put together was neat, but I couldn't get into the book and I think that I would have ended it differently.
Rating: Summary: One of JG's best Review: This is a must-read JG's book. It's almost great to committe a crime like that because everything was well planned four darn years ago and no one can do anything about it!!!!I finished this books in three days, and sometimes I stayed up until 5am to finish this book! After that, I read it again and I still find it interesting! Trust me, try this book!
Rating: Summary: The ending is ALMOST bad enough to scar the entire book. Review: Over 4 days this past weekend, I flew through the Partner, and pretty much loved it. I was captivated by the brilliance of Lanigan, even though every thing did seem to fall into place almost too conveniently. I was also inspired by the devotion and sacrafice that Leah (Eva) gave to helping Patrick. I didn't mind the fact that I found some of the subplots to be be boring and lacking in any value to the book. I especially disliked the subplot about Lance trying to kill Patrick. Overall, I found this book to be one of the better ones in the Grisham collection. He seemed to try hard though to ruin the book with the ending. ... Despite the ending, I still think it was an excellent read, and I still strongly recommend it.
Rating: Summary: Typical Grisham story telling Review: I have read all of Grisham's novels that are in paperback and this one is typical. Lawyers as hero, vllain, and anti-hero with all the characters being developed in terms of the food they eat, how little they sleep, which hotels they use, and where they travel. In addition, the story comes with the typical Grisham downer ending which I believe is a gimmick by Grisham to show his dislike with how most legal proceedings end.
Rating: Summary: Many Surprises!!! Review: This was a very interesting book. It unravelled so quickly I didn't know what was happening. You would think if the guy stole millions of dollars from his firm, he would be the bad guy, but, Grisham made the guy out to be good...which bewildered me. But, then more surprises unravel and there was a reason for him to steal the money. The book wasn't really centered around a court room, which is a change to Grisham's books, the ending was unbelievable. But I won't ruin it for you, and I recommend this book. Especially to Time to Kill, and Chamber readers.
Rating: Summary: Grisham's best crafted story yet. Review: The clever plot, personable characters and writing style are the best of Grisham. Holds your attention, easy to read and follow when you have to read it in chunks of time. Can't wait for the movie!
Rating: Summary: One of his greatest! Review: I thought this is one of Grisham's best books. The details and the thought behind the scheme presented in this book keeps you wanting more. The twist at the end was totally unpredictable and mind boggling
