Rating: 1 stars
Summary: The worst Grisham novel
Review: I have read almost all of Grisham's novels which I quite enjoyed. However, "The Partner" is simply the worst of all. The story is tedious and predictable.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Fast paced, but terrible ending.
Review: I have read all John book except for the The Chamber and The Street Lawyer (I guess I will read them when I go in Vacation in August '98). This Book is good book until the ending. ... the book is not finished the way he leaves it. If you want to kill time this is a great book to kill time with. It just that the ending is not complete. FINISH THE ENDING THE NEXT TIME JOHN!!!!!!!!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An excellent novel
Review: Many people who have written reviews for this book complained about the book's ending. I believe that throughout the novel, Grisham hinted... I found the the end very well done. I also believe us Americans have too much of a tendency to believe life is a fairy tale, and that everything ALWAYS works out fine in the end. It simply isn't that way. So much for the Disney-like endings.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Incredible and shocking read. A Must for Grisham fans.
Review: John Grisham's story telling is incredible here. This book had so many different little twists and turns that you have to continue reading it right on through. The ending becomes a little upsetting, you hope for something else and get let down, but still worth the money. MUST READ!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Loved the book...didn't like the ending so much....
Review: I have read all but one of John Grisham's books. So far, I have enjoyed reading all of them. Some chapters in this book were a little slow, and the book would have to be put down for a little while while I took a nap. Oddly enough, I always wanted to pick the book up, and get to the ending. I was surprised at the ending....the last few pages irritated me. That's not the way things are supposed to turn out! Unlike all of Grisham's books seem to be, the beginning was interesting, and parts in the middle slow. The climax is in the beginning of the book, and the rest of the remaining chapters explain the beginning...filling the reader in on the tiny details that make up this man's case. The ability for Patrick (the main character) to forsee every detail in the case is a bit unbelieveable, but interesting all the same.

Summary: GREAT! but wierd ending
Review: I really think this is one of his best works. I was reading it whenever I could. But the ending was so dissapointing that i have to give a 4. Definite read still.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS HE HAS WRITEN...EXCEPT THE ENDING
Review: THIS BOOK WAS JUST EXCELLENT ALL THE WAY THROUGH. EVERYTHING WAS WELL THOUGHT OUT AND FELL TOGETHER NICELY.YOU JUST COULD'NT WAIT TO GET TO THE ENDING TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED. THATS WHERE IT LOST IT'S 5-STAR RATING . HOW COULD GRISHAM PUT AN ENDING LIKE THAT ON SUCH AN UNBELIEVEABLE BOOK.ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT THERE BETTER BE A PARTNERS 2

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Outstanding!! Definatley a must read..
Review: After reading the Rainmaker..I couldn't wait to read another John Grisham title.. The Partner was my second choice and I was presently surprised to find that this book was so much better. It's a non-stop thriller and it leaves you wondering "what's gonna happen next?" after every turn of the page

Summary: He's outdone himself! Unbelieveable!
Review: Just when you've finished one John Grisham book and thought it was great, you start another and he out-does himself!

Patrick Lanigan was a partner in a very shrewd and sneaky firm, Patrick seems to have a street smart/educated hunch to "grab the money and run". We're talking good guy/ bad guys here and I cheered him on throughout the book at Patrick's orginization and equally shrewedness. The twist at the end came as a total shock to me. Great ending, but sad and disappointing. I hope there's going to be a sequal to this one!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Not a serious story but very enjoyable to read
Review: Grisham is very good at developing a story and making it rich with other little sub-stories. The Partner is a vibrant proof. The main story, stealing the money etc, does not qualify for anything . There is his usual stuff about lawyers, bad marriages and value of good friendship in a cruel and lonely world. We also sense a great deal of crookedness but he does not really get very close to it. Then of course if you ever want to lose several million Dollars through the international banking system, here is your manual. He does not really goes deep into a social problem like he does in The Street Lawyer, Rainmaker or the Chamber. Despite all the averages, The Partner is a real page-turner. Here you appreciate Grisham as the book reads itself. You do not have to make any effort. He brings a lot of characters into the picture but you never lose your concentration. He stays shallow and does not go into deep maintaining a wide array of personalities and little related stories! ! attached to his hero. The plot works out too conveniently but somehow this does not bother us. But the ending (last three pages) is a big disappointment. I simply can not understand why he did that?
