Rating: Summary: It was very interesting Review: Marvelou
Rating: Summary: You'll hate the ending!!!!!! Review: It's the worst ending to a book I've ever read! I'll never buy one of his loser books ever again!
Rating: Summary: Good! Grisham keeps on his style logically. Review: Easy to reed, interesting people with credible solutions. The end was fair, Patrick deserved some kind of punishment!
Rating: Summary: Simplistic plot with a rotten ending Review: This Grisham paperback is now in my wastebasket and I feel I've done my good deed for the day, saving someone else from reading this drivel. To me, the kiss of death for any book is my ability to summarize it in one sentence. Although many books can thus be summarized, I find that I do it only for real clinkers. This is one of them. My summary is: " A guy disappears and is found." I admit to a preference for happy endings. This is one of many reasons I so love Dean Koontz's books. But I don't think I dislike a less-than-happy ending IF the groundwork has been laid, or the reader can otherwise say, "Yep, that works. Sad, but it works." In this Grisham potboiler, NO foundation is laid anywhere for the ending, which I assume was meant to be surprising or ironic or something. "Oops, we'll just turn things upside down for a memorable ending." Memorable indeed.
Rating: Summary: Grisham strikes again!!! Review: This book like many other of his was hard to put down. It starts out with a man who stole 90 million but does his home work. He has blackmale and can prove fraude on all terms of charges against him. I normally don't rate books this high but it was so.. hard to put down.
Rating: Summary: Good, but not John's best Review: the Partner, a new John Grisham novel, is about, you guessed it, a young lawyer who steals some money and fakes his own death. But now they put him up for murder along with robbery since they found a hip bone in his car crash rubble. Good book, but not as good as The Firm. Read this one anyway.
Rating: Summary: Good book except the last 2 chapters Review: This book had the potential to be one of Grisham's best. After reading the conclusion, however, I had such a bad taste in my mouth that I won't read Grisham again. I won't spoil this for anyone who still wants to read it by explaining why, but let me just say it was a brilliant story with a stupid ending.
Rating: Summary: Great, fast-paced, EXCELLENT read Review: This is the first Grishm book that I have read, but certainly NOT my last. Reading through the reviews, it seems alot of people didn't like the ending. I felt quite the opposite. I spent the night going "Oh my God, oh my God! What an unbelievable ending". I like surprises, and I like being caught off-guard. Can't wait to see the movie!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Whats up with the ending? Review: I read "The Partner" on it's first release so it has been quite sometime. After reading some of the recent reviews from other Grisham fans, I remember why I was sooooo disappointed. The book hooked me from the beginning, then all of the sudden, the ending stopped me in my tracks. First I yelled, then I through the book across the room. I realize we can not expect all good endings, but Brocks decision was completely out of character from the rest of the book!!!!!! What a cop out! What was Grisham thinking? Warn your friends!!! I hope "The Testament" wins me back!
Rating: Summary: Grisham`s best yet Review: I enjoyed the whole novel. It had a such great plot and turn of events, that i read it in a week. The only minus is that the ending was rather strange and left you hanging.
