Rating: Summary: Exquisite Review: Just a fantastic story. One comment is that the last twist to the story - involving Eva Miranda was not how it should have ended. That whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth. Don't read the last chapter and this book is a 5 star book. Absolutely loved it - now I can't wait to read another of his books.
Rating: Summary: Another bland lawyer novel Review: I can't believe books this awful actually make the bestseller list. It just proves that our society is full of simplistic drones who will read any piece of trash from a well known name with a good review from a hyped up entertainment magazine. I can't think of one redeeming quality in this book. I am ashamed to say I read the whole thing. At least I didn't buy it.
Rating: Summary: Very Surprising Review: The book was great but the ending was poor. The book kept you wondering what was Patrick's secrets were. It had you biting you nails as the pages turn. The plots had great twist and turns between greed and secrets. The ending was poor. After reading the reader will want a ending that does not leaving you hanging, unless there is a sequel. I hope there is a sequel. Except for the end a real good read.
Rating: Summary: Fast-food reading in its truest form Review: A good, fast read. Predictable for the most part but enjoyable for what it is. Very typical Grisham.
Rating: Summary: Great Story!!! Review: A must read!!! After reading the first page, you wont be able to stop!! The plot is outstanding, and the end leaves you wanting more....
Rating: Summary: Mediocre compared with early Grisham. Review: The thin plot and predictable story line of The Partner made it only average among other, earlier works by Grisham. The characters were static! Only the fluid, easily read writing of Grisham made this book bearable. It is at best a recreational read, nothing more.
Rating: Summary: Gripping tale of a man on the run, and his pursuit from self Review: From page one Grisham shows his way to capture a reader and not let go. So far this is his best yet, combining the court system, love, murder, and fear. And the ending will not dissapoint you.
Rating: Summary: My Favorite Grisham Review: I think this book is Grisham's best. Some negatives are that the characters are unbelievable and the plot is hard to believe. However, I really enjoyed the book and thought it was very entertaining and well-written. The ending is a little weak but the overall book is quite good. If you want a fun little read, choose this one.
Rating: Summary: Full of Crap Review: Like all Grisham books, this one has a good start but ends quite badly. Everything is too pat as one other reviewer wrote, "like a made for movie book" Try reading Leon Uris.
Rating: Summary: Very slow book with a terrible ending Review: The first 100 pages were interesting as he introduced characters. He doesn't just give you all the details at once, but gives bits and pieces throughout the book. The second 100 pages were pretty boring and I almost didn't finish the book. Then for the last half it got more and more interesting as everything came together. I would have rated it 4, but it had a terrible ending. In fact, I wish I hadn't even read the last chapter. It made absolutely no sense at all and just ruined my impression of the book. I don't know what Grisham was thinking but I was certainly let down.
