Summary: Easy reading, Grisham's best work
Review: I've just read "The Partner" for the 2nd time recently. It's still good the 2nd time around. I had a difficult time putting the book down. I don't think the ending was as bad as everyone says. The themes of the story are that "you can't win them all" and "what comes around goes around." Not all stories have happy endings, you know.

Summary: A book that keeps you interested until the end.
Review: I was able to identify myself the the main character who is a lawyer runing away to a new life with 90 million dollars of stolen money. It is a good page turner and keeps you interested. The down sides are that the opponents give up too easily and there is a lot of story telling going on. If you like Grisham`s style, its a good buy.

Summary: Hated the ending but loved the story
Review: Grisham kept you roped in until the final pages when you were left fully disappointed. I wonder if he was planning a sequel to this nove or possibly a movie deal. Those of you who have read the book may agree that the ending was a bit unbelievable. Nonetheless it was a great story, Ijust didn't care for the ending.

Summary: A page turning adventure
Review: This was a book which could hold my attention from the first line till the end. You can never put it away. But... Ending is terrible. I wonder if Mr.Grisham had a bad love affair and left by a lady. I hated the end. Especially because at the times I read the book my girlfriend left me too....

Summary: A great read spoiled by a contrived and illogical ending
Review: The story was un put-downable, but the ending was so illogical that it completely spoiled the overall enjoyment of the book. I re-read the book looking for clues about the end but there weren't any.

Summary: Not a bad piece but something just ain't right
Review: With $90m, wouldn't it be easier to hide in some remote paradise or even hire a small army to protect you ? Besides, would you trust $90m to anyone you met in Brazil ? And, the way it ends, though predictable, is an obvious tail left for a sequel. I read it in a 20 hour plan ride. Not bad but I got that feeling that it's just not all that logical.

Summary: 90 million dollars and nowhere to run!
Review: One gets the impression from his books that mr Grisham has little respect for the legal profession.Being a qualified member of the ABA perhaps this is no surprise. His latest tale is the story of Patrick Lannigan a junior partner in an unscrupulous Mississippi law firm who runs of with a not insubstantial amount of his company's receipts.During the four years he is on the run Patrick is fully aware a search is out for him and find him they do.Patrick is happy to return and face the music but only under his terms. The rest of the book regales us with the ensuing courtroom drama and legal battles from his ex-wife,the US government and his previous employers hopefully to retrieve the missing money. The author captures our attention from the beginning and never lets go.One of his better efforts I think. The twist at the end was unexpected but inevitable.

Summary: MAKES YOU SOOOO MAD...
Review: This was one of Grisham's finest....until the end. The end was completely unpredictable, but in a bad way. It made absolutely no sense. But it certainly did bring out quite an emotional stir out of me...as it did to others as far as i can tell from reading some of the reviews.

Besides the ending, the book was an immensely quick read that I did not want to put down. The whole time you ask yourself how Patrick will get out of that jam, and Grisham almost always provides the perfect, but surprising answer.

Read it...

Summary: I think that this book is even better than The Firm.
Review: When I finished the book I thought that it was very short and I wanted it continue farther ( perhaps because of sad ending ). Excellent thriller. It is a must read for all Grisham fans.

Summary: Great story, exciting to read, but bad ending
Review: I thoroughly enjoyed the book - I found myself hooked, and I read the entire book on a long car trip. It was exciting and suspensful with interesting characters. However, the ending was terrible. It really ruined the book for me. He did a similar thing at the end of "The Rainmaker." As much as I enjoy his books, the endings seem to be very disappointing. Again, it was a very well-written and exciting book, but if I knew how disappointing the ending would be, I would have thought twice about reading the book.
